We really need more elected officials doing this. While on the surface it seem childish and lowbrow, it really effective if you consider it is the only language Trump responds to and it makes the news. Plus the one thing he cant stand is being laughed at.

This will never stand, he'll just use the National Guard and/or the courts to prevent this change. Or other states will respond with their own gerrymandered maps.

He's leaving all the other would-be '28 Democratic candidates in the dust. Newsom-Moore sounds like a good ticket to me.

Newsom / Buttigiug would be my dream ticket.

No member of the Biden Cabinet, even my favorite Gina Raimondo, should be on the 2028 ticket.

No one with close associations with the Bidens or the Clintons. Enough of both.

Buttigieg is never getting elected on a national ticket. Try to process that. I'm not holding my breath for the "first gay president" when our whole country and democracy are crumbling before our eyes from an unrelenting onslaught of fascism. No LGBT politician is getting elected on a national ticket today, 3 years from, or for the foreseeable future. Let it go, there are much bigger fish to fry.

But he's not electable.

R26, elections aren't decided by Democrats. They're also not decided by Republicans. They're decided by swing voters and independents, and that group leans conservative and has no loyalty to any party or politician.

I'm glad a bunch of "straight democrats" aren't turned off by a gay man in a position of power, but you really need to get a clue about the rest of the electorate. Sad to say it really doesn't matter how good or smart or ethical Buttigieg is. At the end of the day he's still LGBT and the country is no where near ready to elect an openly LGBT President.

I’m glad to see Democratic governors—with Newsom being a standout—throwing it right back at Trump. Only a small handful of DC Democrats have done so, which has been infuriating. Those Democrats that fight Trump and his fascist goons will be the future leaders of the country.

I just watched Newsom on the Heather Cox Richardson show and he was very impressive, serious and intense. HCR seemed to be a bit overwhelmed with desire at some points. The comments on the HCR interview were all overwhelmingly in admiration and support of Newsom. Most saying FINALLY SOMEONE IS DOING SOMETHING!

I'm LOVING Newsom's trolling of Trump on social media. It's very well done and very smart. Trump will fucking hate it and obsess over it and I'm here for it. Trump likes to dish it out to "Newscum" but he is a glass jawed titty baby and can't take being insulted back. It makes him insane that anyone would dare do that to him. I've seen a lot of posters on DL saying that the Democratic Party is doing nothing and not fighting. "Where are they?" is continually asked. This is invariably answered by other posters defending the Dems saying "but they're not in power - they can't do anything - what do you expect!!!!!". Nobody expects them to be able to do anything much in congress or the senate - but what Newsom is doing right now - that's what Democratic Party supporters are looking for. Desperate for. Someone to stand up to Trump and to fight fire with fire. To talk back. To fight back. Newsome is the only one doing it and it illuminates starkly how fucking useless Schumer and Jefferies and most of the old school Democratic Party is right now. If Newsom isn't careful he will be the presidential nominee in 2028 because he is projecting fight back and power and filling the void of useless, out of touch Dems who all just have to retire so that new politicians can take their place who are able to meet the moment and task at hand.
