Something truly nobody asked for. People should start jumping off the Netflix ship. Their content has sucked for years now, and nobody should be supporting these grifting scumbags with their hard-earned money.

It's a first-look deal. If the two grifters want to do something, Netflix gets a first look, and is under no obligation to go forward. There is really no guarantee of steady income for the grifters--only if Netflix feels a project is worth going forward.

Meh, this deal lets both parties save face. Harry and Meghan had a hard enough time producing their shitty content with Netflix's money and management. Nothing will come to fruition if they are totally on the hook to produce something that Netflix would agree to buy.

As a wellwisher, I am relieved that Haz and Meg have found an international outlet through which they can broadcast their incessant pleas for privacy.

Netflix sees that King Charles is already knee-deep in the grave and safely betting there's a divorce on the horizon and figure those two events will put eyeballs on them.

It’s a deal where Netflix gets first look at their projects. As far as I can tell no upfront money for the Markles. It saves face for them and if they get divorced or do something interesting Netflix can make a buck. Am I wrong?

Meghan's unpopularity cannot be blamed solely on her race. There are a plethora of POC who are wildly successful in whatever their sphere. They may have their racist detractors, but it does not prevent them from having a huge fan base that greatly eclipses the racists.

Meghan is the inverse. The distaste for Meghan is widespread across large swaths of the public on multiple continents, especially relative to her small fan base.

R15, usually these agreements involve paying a fee to the company that develops ideas, but that may not be the same thing as supporting a whole office for Harry and Meghan.

The Hollywood Reporter (Hollywood's "Bible") says it more like it is...it's a downgrade, basically a way to somewhat cut ties while saving face for both sides. It's a first look deal, meaning it's pay for play only. Megzy refers to it as a multi-year deal, while Netflix is allegedly calling it an "extension." They're going to air the rest of With Love Meghan that's already in the can (the christmas special will be worth the laughs alone) and then things will likely just slowly dissolve unless H&M get a divorce which is why Netflix likely wants to keep some links.
