Christopher Reeve is Superman just as Judy is Dorothy and Julie is Mary Poppins. When the casting was like lightening in a bottle the first time it's not gonna be topped. Chris Reeve took the role so seriously he wouldn't take roles that would diminish it.

I was 12 when George Reeves' death was announced in 1959. He died of a gunshot & the official cause stated was suicide, though there are doubts about that. I remember my little sisters being confused about how Superman could be shot to death, since we saw him defying bullets every week on TV.

Definitely Christopher Reeves for me. I only really liked the first two films he did, though.

I remember watching old Superman shows with George Reeves on TV in the 80s, when I was a child, and my father telling me George had killed himself jumping from a window, believing he was actually Superman. I am sure that must have been a fairly common urban legend because I later heard or read something similar from other people.

Can you just imagine a happy, jovial, goofy Clark Kent/Superman played by Cavill?

Ovaries would explode at the sight. It is truly, truly unfortunate that Snyder chose that path for his movies. All depression, violent, ugly, hopeless, dark world for his stories.

I think some of the reasons people are really liking this latest Superman movie is because it is a bit funny, not doom and gloom and Clark interacts with more people and we see some of his “regular” life.

I watched the latest Superman on streaming. James Gunn has destroyed the entire DC universe. That Ryan Murphy pool boy and his ridiculous wig is no Superman. Henry Cavill is Superman.

The current one. So cute but he needed just a touch of bronzer as he was always looking pale. Nicholas Hault played a good, envious asshole as Lex. Really loved this version.
