Kids these days.

[quote]A summer associate at Sidley Austin began allegedly biting colleagues and roaring at them on her first day and was subsequently fired after the behavior continued for a few weeks, according to Above the Law.

But she managed to act normal thru the interview process?

by Anonymousreply 1July 25, 2025 12:47 AM

Dumb bitch.

You bite the clients.

by Anonymousreply 2July 25, 2025 12:51 AM

Zoomer!

by Anonymousreply 3July 25, 2025 1:03 AM

And we're sure this wasn't the manager's new nutball terrier, right OP?

Did she sneak off and pee somewhere inappropriate afterwards?

by Anonymousreply 4July 25, 2025 1:03 AM

Some people take "Bite me" literally.

by Anonymousreply 5July 25, 2025 1:04 AM

They put up with it for a few weeks?

by Anonymousreply 6July 25, 2025 1:08 AM

R1 It's in NY, so that probably means she was a DEI hire.

DEI doesn't care if you're a hard worker and have the talent/constitution for the job.

They go by quotas, mainly if the person is POC, female, and/or has a disability/mental disorder.

Hence why DEI often hires incompetent people for unsuitable jobs.

There's also a Daily Mail story with more detail, coming up.

Horses don't even say "rawr."

[quote]As if the alleged biting and spending spree weren't enough, the insider went on to say the woman was 'apparently a "horse girl" who says "rawr" regularly.'

[post redacted because linking to dailymail.co.uk clearly indicates that the poster is either a troll or an idiot (probably both, honestly.) Our advice is that you just ignore this poster but whatever you do, don't click on any link to this putrid rag.]

She is seriously my hero.

Being a summer associate was the guttermost thing. Being one at Sidley would be intolerable.

They should rejoice that she didn’t go full Dylan and Eric.

Fuck them and a 🍷 to her tonight.

by Anonymousreply 10July 25, 2025 1:22 AM

I have a feeling one of her colleagues suggested she show up on time for work, and she accused them of 'bullying' her and 'triggering her' - so she bit them and roared at them, as any Zoomer will do. Now - where's her trophy ?

by Anonymousreply 11July 25, 2025 1:27 AM

R10 is nuts. Summer associate at Big Law is the cushiest job in the world for a future lawyer. You just have to show up, “bill” a couple if hours and say yes whenever you’re invited to eat, drink or attend a party or sporting event.

by Anonymousreply 12July 25, 2025 1:33 AM

I’m with R12. Being a summer associate is like a trip to Pleasure Island. I did mine in San Francisco and spent the whole time going to restaurants, trips to Napa, etc. Then I took an associate job at Big Law , and it was nothing like summer. Chained to my desk until midnight for five years. But I made bank , paid off my loans and bought a weekend house. Now I work for a nonprofit.

Biting nips in the break room?

by Anonymousreply 14July 25, 2025 1:46 AM

She's transhorse and this is literal violence

by Anonymousreply 15July 25, 2025 1:49 AM

R12 and r13, some summer associates expose themselves to the following reality during the summer: “ Then I took an associate job at Big Law , and it was nothing like summer.”

I did. I wanted to know how shitty it would be in real life.

by Anonymousreply 16July 25, 2025 2:00 AM

Duh—you know that going in. You see the actual associates suffering as you head out early to a rooftop party or a luxury box at Yankee Stadium. That’s the way it works

by Anonymousreply 17July 25, 2025 2:03 AM

I went to school with a girl who barked and wore a dog collar. She's a dude now

by Anonymousreply 18July 25, 2025 2:05 AM

She should change her name to Vampira, at least people would receive a warning in advance.

by Anonymousreply 19July 25, 2025 2:09 AM

Fifi became Fido?

by Anonymousreply 20July 25, 2025 2:10 AM

From the article I'm still not getting why she was doing this. From my experience a lot of people who work around big firms are Yes men people pleasers and not afraid to take chances. They may be super smart though. I can see nobody standing up to her or complaining for weeks.

by Anonymousreply 21July 25, 2025 2:55 AM

People complained left and right per the news. Perhaps she lacked situational awareness. Or she was plain old socially inept.

by Anonymousreply 22July 25, 2025 2:58 AM

What’s the problem?

by Anonymousreply 23July 25, 2025 5:33 AM

The Biglaw Biter started chomping away at other employees at "Sidley Gnaw-stin" - not in an aggressive, "we're beefing" way, but more of a faux-quirky manic pixie dream girl crossed with the Donner party vibe,' according to the insider

The bites were in fact not confined to one incident/event,' read the message, which was posted alongside a photo of what appeared to be bite marks on someone's arm.

'Rather she was biting people all summer and nobody was reporting it for some reason.'

The alleged insider claimed the woman bit 'summer associates, associates and an HR person' and that her officemate began wearing long sleeves to avoid getting bit.

The same message also accused the summer associate of another faux pas of ordering a $2,000 bottle of wine at a dinner with partners and associates.

by Anonymousreply 24July 25, 2025 7:22 AM

[quote]People complained left and right per the news.

'They BULLIED her !' is what you're actually saying. They hurt her feelings, and she was triggered. So now she'll be hired back and given a big promotion with a corner office and a 'decompress' play area.

by Anonymousreply 25July 25, 2025 11:36 AM

[quote]her officemate began wearing long sleeves to avoid getting bit.

Having to wear long sleeves in the summer because your cube neighbor BITES would be the last straw for me. I'd call Animal Control and send that bitch to the pound where she belongs.

by Anonymousreply 26July 25, 2025 5:06 PM

Cravath partners would recognize her as one of their own, and invite her to eat in the partners' dining room.
