This new baddie?
Look at that ridiculous hair color on Quinn.

What’s ridiculous about it? How is it worse than Evans?

The one that's not a pixie haired lesbian

Is it worse than Evans’? Yes, a thousand times yes.

Joseph is much more my type, but I can’t get past the hair.
Seriously, what the fuck?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | July 23, 2025 5:05 AM |
They needed a blond so Joseph died. What’s hard to get past that?

He’s dead?

Died blonde, you idiot!

*Bleached* blonde.

Joseph Quinn looks like a foot.
Chris Evans was perfection.

YOU look like a foot!🦶

Chris Evan's buzz cut + hairy chest is the template.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | July 24, 2025 10:38 PM |
So why didn’t they follow the template?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | July 24, 2025 11:22 PM |
Because brown haired, brown eyed, Joseph Quinn was hot coming off of Stranger Things, so they were okay to dye his hair and give him blue contacts and put him on screen.
Apparently, in this movie, they needed someone who could act because it’s not all fun and games. It gets very serious. So they cast for that instead of shirtless beefcake.
(And I should have said Evans’ not … yeah.)

No, they cast mostly fugs in this because it's woke casting.
And they emasculated Johnny Storm, too.
He's supposed to be a fratboy dudebro but with a heart of gold.
The wokes (i.e. radical feminists) despise traditional beauty and masculinity.

I saw “Fantastic Four” this afternoon. It was entertaining, I liked it okay. I thought the tone was all over the place — starts off as fairly warm and comedic and becomes a sci-fi action/adventure movie. And for me it wasn’t entirely successful at world building. It’s set in an ‘alternate’ earth. The time period is a kind of retro-1960s New York City but a swoopy, ‘futuristic’ ‘60s that people of that period might have thought the ‘future’ would be like.
I decided I liked the eccentric, not-obvious casting, like Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer (because why not?) Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby are excellent, their ‘realistic’ acting grounds the film even when it seems at odds with some of the comic book goings-on. But ultimately the plot hinges on a family’s love for their new baby, so the naturalistic acting helps there.
Joseph Quinn was cast in the same spirit of ‘why not?’ He struck me as slightly old for this part, I did like the way they dressed him — white jeans show what he’s got up front rather nicely but he doesn’t have the kind of “America’s Ass” bubble butt we’ve lusted after from Chris Evans. Quinn is no pretty boy, has a strong character actor’s face and the blond caesar cut doesn’t really work for him. I will say he has a very sexy mouth. But his performance overall is too glum.
The crew that gave us “Superman” did a much better job at finding the right tone and style for their reboot. But I would revisit this world again, even if it did seem shaky and indefinite. I was intrigued and bemused if not seduced.

The new one looks like Stuart from Mad TV

Joseph Quinn looks like Mark Zuckerberg.
Not hot.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 25, 2025 3:39 AM |
Saw it this afternoon, as well.
It was okay. Definitely not as good or as fun as Thunderbolts.
Mole Man was pretty good and baby Franklin was adorable.
Kirby was definitely the MVP.

500 hot actors for every Hollywood role and they picked Quinn? Seriously?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | July 25, 2025 3:54 AM |
Looks hot to me.
But I’ve never been into the generic Sean Cody type .

Chris Evans was perfection. His hair looks dated but it's fine.
I don't see the attraction with Joseph Quinn. I assume this is what Gen Z likes so I don't really care. The hair is just weird. I think there's some "retro future" thing with the fantastic four movie but this hairstyle was a bad decision.
The new movie looks dumb. I predict yet another failed F4 franchise.
Sorry, Marvel shill.

Possibly, but I doubt it. So far, it's doing double the business of Thunderbolts and Captain America: Brave New World. So far, it's similar to Superman but not expected to hit those numbers.
If it's the highest grossing super hero movie for Marvel/Disney this year, then it was a success. It looks like it will at least have that. However, they still should have released it back when it was supposed to be released, because it probably would do better if it wasn't coming off the tail of Superman.

DL logic:
Two weeks ago: "Superman is a flop!"
Today: "Fantastic four will do great! Not as great as Superman, but still...."
by Anonymous | reply 25 | July 25, 2025 2:22 PM |
Studios are in competition with each other. (Superman will gross more money than Fantastic Four but it may not gross more than the last Superman movie and it definitely won't make more than other releases from WB.)
Studios are also in competition with themselves. (Fantastic Four might be the best selling comic book movie for Marvel/Disney this year compared to their other releases but it won't beat any of WBs top movies this year.)
Both movies will no doubt revitalize their associated properties.
Movies can be successful at one thing but flop at something else.
