What specific organ caused the cancer to spread in the head and neck? Was it cancer of the brain?

Head and neck cancers are often traced to HPV viruses.

"Head and neck cancer" is a very vague term—that could mean throat cancer, oral cancer, esophageal cancer, thyroid cancer, etc.

R11 it says he died of head and neck cancer which metastasized to his lung—that's technically not lung cancer as it didn't originate there.

It could be from smoking. They’d all be connected. I’m not sure if he was a heavy smoker or not. It really is tragic, someone dying that young from a disease.

R13 60-70% of oral cancers today are HPV related.
So it’s sex, not smoking that is leading those cancers.

My biological father (who I was not close with and had very little contact with during my childhood or adult years) died in his late 70s from mouth cancer in 2017.
I'm fairly certain his years of rampant alcoholism and chain smoking from an early age were the cause of his cancer, and not HPV-related.
But I really couldn't be certain one way or another.
