My partner is very ADD, and it seems to be getting worse. I swear he cannot just make a statement or tell a story. Sometimes he doesn't even finish a thought. Are you ADD? Taking medication for it?
How ADD are... oh squirrel!

I think I'm the opposite. I don't know much about true ADD, so this could be simply some other issue. But, I'm so laser focused to a fault. I can sit and just listen to music and not really be distracted. But, I think the house could be burning down, and if I'm in the middle of a task, I would not even know it. I work from home, and always on video. When I see coworkers clearly multitasking, it drives me nuts. I'm just looking at the camera and, worst case, maybe taking notes if I can't get a transcript.
I sometimes wish I was not so annoyingly focused!

I took ADD medication (Vyvanse) for a while. It was a miracle cure as far as focus, BUT, I had horrible crashes after a few hours, so I stopped taking it. I would be the most productive person ever for about 4 hours, then I'd feel like I had the flu for about 4 hours. Now, I just live with being ADD.

R1 You sound productive at work rather than just on your own interests so this probably does not apply to you, but there is something called hyper-focus adhd.

r3 That actually does sound accurate - thanks!

You’re quite welcome, R1.

I'm not ADD at work, but definitely at home/socially. Maybe I'm overly-excited to be out in the world or something. At work I'm just trapped in front of my computer so there's no real opportunity to be ADD anyway.
