Overcoming Bigotry
Where do I discuss this?
I was gently rebuked in the late 80s by big Ms. Jean Benninghoff about my bigotry. Since then, it’s been a shameful path learning that we are all US.
Did you have people who educated you gently? Or, were they harsh? Did you learn?

Have you NO SHAME??!!
Beware of trolls and their seemingly innocuous polls. This segment of the survey is to determine the level of racism within the homosexual population and how it compares to the population at large.

I’m not a bigot, I just prefer to live in areas with limited sidewalks and public transport.

It was 1989 and I was driving a group of workers to the central train station in Chicago when I barked at pedestrians as I drove. Mean Jean cautioned me about calling out gently as I drove.
She lived in my neighborhood and I listened as I drove her home. It was the most gentle lesson in humanity that I’ve ever heard and I felt so small when she told me about human wealth and how little I valued us as a people.
It was humiliating and useful at the same time.
I hope you have all experienced a Jean moment.
