Freddie Highmore IS Edgar Allan Poe

And he'll be doing it in French!

[quote]Freddie Highmore (“The Good Doctor”) is in negotiations to star as a reimagined Edgar Allan Poe in “Augustine & Edgar,” a new prestige detective period series set in Paris during the tumultuous mid-19th century. The British actor is fluent in French and has said in several interviews over the last 10 years that he’d love to be offered a part in French.

[quote]Audrey Fleurot, one of France’s best known actors, is in talks to join the series as Augustine. Fleurot headlines the TF1 smash hit series “HPI” which has been remade as “High Potential” by ABC.

Who does he think he is, me?

You can see him on YouTube on French chat shows. He's pretty good: excellent comprehension, some inhibition speaking French to French people, but he's brave to even try. Accent is discernibly not French.

A Level French, grade A. (No doubt skills improved on summer exchanges).

r2 Which all totally tracks for EAP, who learned French at a boarding school in England. End result should be pretty cute.
