30 years for missing anchor woman Jodi Huisentruit
Abducted in the parking lot of her apartment building on her way to work to cover the news and has never been seen since. She was dragged out of her shoes, her car key bent. The story has so many twists and turns. She was basically Laura Palmer. Everyone loved her and was touched in some way by her. They find another person she supposedly went on a date with the week she vanished every year.
She joined the 27 club. In fact, she had just celebrated her birthday with everyone.

More like Who-was-a-tart. I bet she'd had abortions.
No more of this in Donald Trump's America, where women are safe!

John Van Cise has been the number 1 suspect. He was an older man who wanted to be Jodi's sugar daddy but she wasn't interested. Last I heard he had dementia so they won't be getting a confession out of him.

I have followed this case for years. Poor girl! The terror. Dumb things we do when we are young. Walking to her care outside every night on her way to work. Didn’t she drop shoes and a curling iron in the parking lot when the person grabbed her? So sad and scary!

R6 What did you want her to do, hire a bodyguard?

She looks a lot like Jane Krakowski.

I wonder if she was going to expose someone on the news. KIMT serves a small market, so an expose would be hard hitting hometown material. It’s coverage is split between Mason City, IA (30k) and Rochester, MN (120k).

Her disappearance is a creepy one. Like many, I've always assumed she had a local stalker who abducted her. It could've been a random attack, but I somehow doubt it. I know she was running late the morning she vanished. One of her coworkers at the news station called her around 4:00am and spoke with her on the phone, and she told her she had accidentally overslept and was preparing to leave. If I remember correctly, her apartment was found to be in a bit of disarray, not due to an intruder, but as though she had been rushing to get out the door. All of the evidence suggests she was attacked while trying to get into her car.

Is this Craig T. Nelson she's interviewing here?

Jon VanCise totally did and even the FBI believed that so much so that they put a tracking device on his car. The weirdo even named his boat after her after only knowing her a few weeks. He was obsessed. People at her complex said that they thought they heard her scream Jon.

If she lost her shoes in the scuffle, she was probably unconscious 'dead weight' and he had to lift or drag her. Probably chloroformed her from behind.
If you're still conscious, use your weight as a tool. Never 'walk' with someone: make them drag you. Scream your head off. Scratch to get DNA under your fingernails. If you're in the car try to lay on the horn. Grab the wheel and steer it into a wreck. Pull the keys out of the ignition.
Women are too, "I'll do anything you want but please don't hurt me".

I think it was some nutcase who watched her on the news, became obsessed, and found out where she lived.
This is one of those cases that if it happened today would probably be solved quickly because there are cameras everywhere now. So many cases from years ago went unsolved because there were no traffic light cameras, security cameras at homes and businesses that faced the street, etc.

IS she still alive? Locked in a dingy windowless room in a house somewhere like that kid (now adult) they recently found in Connecticut?

R12: A "local stalker", as opposed to what, a stalker from out of town?
R15: Was she the Kitty Genovese of Mason City? Do those bored small towners have nothing better to do than ignore screams.
