It’s time we revisit the Trump assassination

Good question. Hardly a word about it after his ear "healed".

This definitely warrants investigation. I'm worried that with Trump firing the FBI and installing loyalists, the truth may never come to light.

I'm not a CT believer but I have to wonder if he existed and if he did is he living on the government dime somewhere with a new identity. The way it was quickly hushed up was weird. Nary a word about the shooter or the other dead guy. Most other guys who have succeeded in shooting a president are analyzed and dissected for years in the media.

I bet his parents were paid off. Money talks.

I don't think he was even at the rally. Just kidnapped and killed elsewhere. It's rdiculous to imagine him trotting across a field with a sack and climbing a building.

Back when we were all sniffing around into this story, I spent time on it and came away convinced that nobody in the Trump administration expected or anticipated it; the shooter is (was) real, he was a lone shooter, he's dead, he wasn't especially political but wanted to become a famous assassin.

He really did fire his gun, he really did try to kill Trump, he really did kill somebody else, and *something* really did graze the edge of Trump's ear and cause some minor bleeding -- but that part gets more doubtful on the specifics. I suspect it was a fragment of glass or hard plastic that nicked the edge of his ear, and not a bullet; those bullets are brutally destructive.

To Trump's credit, he realized immediately that this was a photo op and an "icon making" moment and he went for it with that defiant gesture. But I think he really did get hit by something, and the blood was his and it was real -- but I don't think it was a bullet.

I believe it was real for two reasons: if it was a set-up they’d want the assassin to be ANYONE but a white kid from a Republican family, and other than getting his photo op Trump didn’t take advantage of it at all. He could have had the dead guy’s wife and kids on stage at the RNC, or gone to church with them, and it would have been political gold. He couldn’t even be bothered to do that.

Of course, there’s no way a bullet actually grazed him. It was a glass fragment from the shattered monitor.

I fully dismissed these conspiracy theories. Then I read this (long) but fascinating piece. It brought me to at least 50/50 on this whole thing being staged.

Trump is a massive coward. If he really thought somebody aiming a dangerous weapon at him, there is NO FUCKING WAY he would have stood back up to keep making a target of himself. No fucking way.

The Florida golf course thing was a farce, too. No one saw a man enter the weeds with a gun? How long was he there?

Trump would have been in total shock, he wouldn’t have risen up to yell “Fight! Fight! Fight!” if his shock was genuine. Also there was no officiial medical press conference afterward, was there? And Trump usually can’t keep his mouth shut on a whole range of topics but has been totally silent about this incident apart from the empty platitudes about god “saving” him.

Nothing adds up about this.

But how could they have put a stop to one? Trump was a candidate, he wasn't President. The claims people make would have constituted some massive coverup or conspiracy among the secret service, local officials, local medical professionals...

Trump’s done a lot of stupid shit to look tough including nearly giving himself a heart attack climbing the stairs after almost dying from covid. His risk assessment is not good and does not outweigh his desire for a photo op.

The more questionable detail to me isn’t that he stood up but that multiple secret service agents couldn’t keep him from doing so when that is literally their only job in that scenario.

Trump does think fast on his feet. Probably from years of tussles behind closed doors with jilted spouses, cheated business partners, bilked bankers and bullied renters.

Every healthcare worker on reddit at the time had never seen any kind of bandage like he had. This was doctors and nurses all around the world.

I don't see why he would have had to pretend to be cut. Even if it was staged. A person was killed and two others wounded. So was the shooter. That's full "proof" of an assassination attempt. Many assassination attempts do not include the person getting hit, or bleeding. That seems like it would be a stupid thing to try to fake, totally unnecessary. Am I the only one who has thought of this?

What is questionable is why the media doesn’t obsess over the shooter, his motives, his digital footprint etc the way they would if it were Harris or Obama. If it were them, we’d still be hearing about it today. The other questionable thing is how the secret service did not notice (or seem to notice) a shooter on the roof. That also explains the incompetence of the agents not covering Trump after he was hit. If you think this is some kind of massive conspiracy, might I also recommend Pizzagate or QAnon for you?

I thought it was weird how it was just sort of brushed over. But then I've thought it weird how things like mass shootings seem to get brushed over. (Las Vegas, for ex.) Once the news cycle is over, you never hear about them again.

Then again, the media today is not into investigative reporting in general.

The media doesn’t like to talk about it because the only answer to stopping mass murder is gun control and most media is owned by Republicans who don’t support that.

Also, the motivation here was totally clear from s forensic psychology standpoint. The kid’s dad was a Trump supporter; he wanted to kill his dad’s hero. His father was probably abusive but that’s not something a Republican-owned media wants to talk about either.

Speaking of Tony Soprano - OP - the night that it happened I immediately thought of The Sopranos episode “The Fleshy Part of the Thigh.” A rapper gansta wanted his new album to go to #1. Bobby Baccala overheard the conversation. He told the guy - I’m a marksman - for a price I’ll shoot you in the fleshy part of the thigh. They did it and the gangster got tons of publicity. Oh - and the agreement was he wouldn’t know when it would happen. ……. The #1 reason I think it was fake - Trump doesn’t talk about it. You know Trump - the man beats a dead horse! He goes ON and ON about the rapists and mental patients, the fake news, the left wing lunatics p, Biden, Biden, Putin, Obama The Big Beautiful Bill ….. if someone shot me I would talk about it for five years straight! There is NO WAY he wouldn’t talk about it non stop!

I think it was real, and it is just being buried by the media lately so they can resume with the Trump is awesome bullshit parade.

Truth is Trump’s never really wanted to lean into this story which is why he and his cronies in the media moved on so quickly. The idea that he could be taken out by a scrawny teenager because his security is incompetent is a form of weakness, no matter how much they try to spin it. And he hates that. That’s also why he couldn’t bear to wear that dumb maxipad bandage for more than a couple of days. He doesn’t need or want people to be sympathetic to him, he wants to be feared.

I think the "event" was very real. I do NOT think Dump was shot and was only cut by debris.
