What's it like living in Toronto?

What are the nice, interesting neighborhoods to live in? I may be moving and am thinking about living in a condo or apartment. Thanks!

What Prairie shithole do you live in at present, OP?

In Toronto all seems to breathe freedom and peace, and to make one forget the world and its sad turmoils.

The fascist state of Toronto?

by Anonymousreply 4July 7, 2025 4:06 AM

It's good. Overdeveloped but it's good. Lots of green space, unique netowork of ravines, lots of young people at various Universities, sports teams, bars, theatre and music and activities nearby. Traffic very bad, expensive, maybe live a bit out of town. It's dense now, didn't have to happen. People nice, multicultural. Not fascist! You are wrong, previous poster.it's a lotta things but not fascist.. A left wing mayor, but it's hard to get a job and move here and find a place. Prices are down though. Lot of artistic and musical talent in this town. Provincial Premier Ford, a wrecker of norms, sound familiar? is a Maga in disguise though.

Thanks a lot, r5. I'm starting to think that maybe living right in the city isn't the way to go. My job is remote, so location doesn't matter all that much. I have relatives in the US, not too far over the border, so the metro area in general is still a good idea. Any recommendations?

Ravines? You're really reaching in terms of boosterish references.

I remember Margaret Atwood setting a novel on a Toronto island that sounded like a cool place to live.

We have lots of gullies, ditches, and pot holes right here in San Francisco, why not move here? As the Big Tekkie Douchebro Overloards move their businesses to Texas and Florida, it's easier to find an apartment. Our famous fog will keep you ice-cold year round, especially in Summer. No need to pay for AC, and you'll feel right at home!
