Do you think assistants/security guards feels insecure and worthless because people only want to take pics of the famous people?

(or any random worker on the red carpet)

You know what I mean, the red carpet is always full of assistants, managers, and publicists standing around. If the photographers accidently take their picture, they say things like "oh, I didn't mean to take your picture, I thought you were an actress" or someone asks "who is that?" and another replies, "Nobody, just a bodyguard or something..........omg, it's Minka Kelly/Nicole Kidman over there, please pose, oh you're gorgeous"

A lot of people in LA in these types of jobs probably had creative dreams too and that's what brought them out to Hollywood but they never got anywhere and probably feel bitter and embarrassed. I imagine it must make them feel very small and unimportant being surrounded by important, popular celebs everyone wants to see.

It seems like you are someone who is just personally really impressed by fame.

In 60-some years I have never given it the least bit of thought, and now I shall resume

by Anonymousreply 2July 5, 2025 12:12 PM

Minka Kelly? Not asking this lame question in 2025, huh?

by Anonymousreply 3July 5, 2025 12:15 PM

They don't care. People who work closely with and around celebrities get desensitized very quickly at the aura of celebrity because they see the real person and recognize that celebrities are really no different than anyone else. When the cameras aren't rolling celebrities quickly revert to the people they were before they became celebrities. Some can be very nice, but many can be trashy and lowbrow. Those who work closely with them realize that celebrities are just putting on an act. Some of them are crazy enough to believe their own publicity and put on the act all the time, no matter who is watching.

At least they didn't mention Vanessa Paradis.

by Anonymousreply 8July 5, 2025 3:23 PM

Minka Kelly is still famous.

Just talk to anyone who works as crew on any movie or TV show with major stars and they'll regale you with what absolute trash many big money stars are when they know the public isn't watching.

by Anonymousreply 10July 5, 2025 6:07 PM

I think they get paid plenty to fade into the background.

by Anonymousreply 11July 5, 2025 6:35 PM

I would imagine that having a front-row seat for what fame is really like would make almost anyone lose interest in acquiring it.
