POLL: Bette Midler’s Cover of TLC’s “Waterfalls”

From her album of girl-group covers. It’s a little brave to cover such a huge hit, especially for a Black group that saw so much personal tragedy, but Bette gives it her best.

It's not her treatment of it that makes it something I never want to hear again, though Bette should get a few demerits for choosing to record it in the first place. She does a fine enough job, but the maudlin sappiness of the song is kind of icky.
