51% good reviews.
Bailey is lucky he has Wicked in his hip pocket, so won't necessarily be punished for a flop.

It can't be that bad.

Isn’t this like the 59th JP film? How can any one top the first one? We’ve seen all this shit over 30 years ago.

51%, really?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | July 4, 2025 1:26 AM |
People don't care what the critics say. They are going to see the film and no effete nerd's opinion will dissuade them.

I saw it today. I liked it a lot. Much better than the Chris Pratt trilogy.

We know it's a dumb dino movie. We're not expecting high brow Spielberg suspense. This isn't Shindler's T-Rex or Saving Private Bronty GAWD

I saw it yesterday with some friends and we all enjoyed it. I kind of would have like someone other than ScarJo in the lead, but I guess they wanted a big name. She was fine, but her casting was just sort of uninspired.

People need a break from the reality of the current political situation and this offers that to them. It also reminds us of the time when there was good and evil and good wins. They want moments like this in their lives, but have to settle for vicarious thrills:

I thought it was fun too. It's a dumb popcorn movie but better than most - it's not trying to be more. It's certainly better just for not having Chris Pratt or whatsherface Howard in it. Bailey is a treat for the eyes

Bailey’s collapse is complete.

With what will be the highest grossing movie of the summer, R11?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | July 4, 2025 4:35 PM |
What’s your point, r13? The reviews are terrible and it’s going to collapse in week 2.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | July 6, 2025 10:24 PM |
Highest grossing movie of the summer? lol. Sure, Jan.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | July 6, 2025 10:24 PM |
Let’s count how many blockbuster movies were out this year. Um, hmm…
by Anonymous | reply 16 | July 6, 2025 10:25 PM |
R14, aka Leonard Maltin, once again, no one reads what the critics write. "Superman" opens on the 11th, but the dinos will still carry the week.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | July 7, 2025 1:36 AM |
r15 I mean, it literally is, according to data. Or can you not read?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | July 7, 2025 2:42 AM |
Some people here are really twisting themselves into a pretzel in order to support their narrative that this movie is a flop, and all because they personally didn't enjoy it. Bizarre, immature behaviour. Although I highly suspect it's all mostly coming from just one prolific poster.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | July 7, 2025 2:48 AM |
r19 Yes, because r16/15/14/OP is all over this thread, and any other one that talks about this. So very strange and unhinged. She is not happy!

The terrible first Jurassic World with Chris Pratt opened to $524M worldwide a decade ago.

That was pre-Covid, obviously. Things have change in the last decade.
DL is one of the toughest audiences out there, and the poster here who have seen it, seem to have enjoyed it. Based on this totally anecdotal evidence, I'm going to extrapolate from it that word-of-mouth will make this movie a huge hit.
No expert here, just MHO.

The trailers make the movie look dreadful and unwatchable, and when the trailer sucks... beware.
Is anyone else shocked that the critics are being as generous as they are?

The movie has already been out for four days. In general, 70+% of people liked the movie, based on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB ratings.

It’s so bad
by Anonymous | reply 25 | July 7, 2025 3:58 AM |
Aside from the first Jurassic Park movie, these are effectively monster movies that go to watch people run and die. They are turn your brain off popcorn movies. If you want something artistic or stimulating, this ain't the movie for you. I probably going to see it just for Bailey really.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | July 7, 2025 4:13 AM |
I saw it today and it was big and fun - perfect summer blockbuster movie. The theatre was packed and lots of the shows were sold out.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | July 7, 2025 8:38 AM |
Shows being sold out means what?
It’s Jurassic Park. A massive IP. You’re acting like this was an original film. This wasn’t Sinners

r28 "You’re acting like this was an original film"
Where did r27 state that? How odd.

With Jurassic World you know what you're getting, whereas most films are reviewed by po-faced critics who measure it against classics like Citizen Kane.
