Is it possible to vote these two out as minority leaders?
Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer

The easiest way to get rid of Schumer is to primary him. AOC could 86 him if she takes his senate seat. But she’s probably thinking about running for president at this point.
Hakeem Jeffries isn’t going anywhere. You’re stuck with him. He might become House Speaker after next year and he’s not giving up that opportunity.

Easily done, but their reputations would suffer, so it's not happening.

AOC should run for Schumer's seat (and forget about running for POTUS, or have the Democrats learned absolutely nothing having run and lost with two women now?).
So, so disappointed with Schumer and Jeffries in the lat 6 months.

The level of Schumer Fatigue has exceeded the level of Pelosi Fatigue. Chuck personifies the past — an impotent hanger-on of Congressional Democrats. He couldn’t effectively lead Senate Democrats during the 117th Congress and that cemented his fate as a failed leader. He needs to take the lesson of McTurtle and retire.
Jeffries is milquetoast; Democrats can do better. Congressional Democrats would do well to emulate Republicans a couple congresses ago and elect younger, hungrier leaders.

When he speaks, Jeffries tries so hard to channel Obama it's like a SNL parody.

Schumer's gotta go--he's really a drain on the Democrats. I'm sure he's convinced himself that those awful old-fashioned reading glasses he always wears are a charming affectation, but they make him look even older and more ineffectual than he is.
I'm not sure whom I'd advocate to lead the Senate Democrats in his stead, but it needs to be someone tougher and more dynamic. Unfortunately, the political structure of the DP would not make that a priority necessarily.

What are they supposed to do, realistically? Trump won the EC, the popular vote, and Congress. The wise know defeat when they see one. It's fine to admit you're fucked occasionally, and then HUMBLY work from there to change your fortunes in the future. Or would you prefer delusion and hysteria?

Well, for starters, when the CR came up just after Inauguration day, instead of doing absolutely NOTHING, Schumer could have used the negotiations to extract something out of the Republicans; instead, he handed them a clean, smooth victory that only emboldened the more radical faction of the GOP.

This moment was a low point, to say the least...

How about Chris Murphy as Senate Minority Leader?
Eric Swalwell as his House counterpart would be good, but Jeffries isn't going anywhere for now.
AOC would never beat Schumer in a primary. Don't assume Mamdami's primary victory in NYC is the sort of thing that would translate to the entire state.

AOC could absolutely beat Schumer in a primary. She’s consistently polled stronger than he did, even before Mamdani’s win. She might have a tougher time against a different challenger, (although she would likely have better name recognition), but Schumer wouldn’t be the one to stop her.

During these challenging times, Hakeem Jeffries should be out there denouncing the Democrats everyday, all day. I don't see him. A couple of years ago, I thought he would make a great leader. No more. He now just seems weak. And yes, Schumer has got to go. Enough of him.
I see Sen Chris Murphy and Rep Jim Himes, both from Connecticut, out there constantly. They rise to the occasion all the time.

Jeffries is a limp dick.

Schumer Fatigue is far worse than Pelosi Fatigue.
For all her detractors, Nancy got shit done, right up to the end. Schumer couldn't even keep his own people together when they were in the majority.

Democrats need people who are more inspiring, i.e with some actual fight in them.

They need to be primaried. At least 2/3 of current democratic politicians need to be primaried. The younger generations need to start moving in and begin taking over the government one dinosaur at a time. First order of business is to abolish the supreme court. What a ridiculous concept and judicial structure to have carried forth all these decades. So outdated.

If a particular politician can't be immediately removed via primarying them or forcing them to retire, they need to be muted and set aside on a back burner, with no power to affect anything. This goes doubly so for the GOP. The only way to move forward is to completely collapse and rebuild. There is no propping up or "saving" of the current institutions. They're decaying and crumbling on a daily basis - we are witnessing that happen. Use these crumbling remnants as compost for new growth, try to avoid reinventing the wheel of something that stopped working a long time ago.
