Fetterman is the new Joe Manchin. Manchin was power hungry too. I think Fetterman is a disgrace. His clothing just belies a certain costume that is just for the public. Do you think if he had to go to funeral or a state dinner he would dress like that? No. It's to make the people in Pennsylvania think he man of the people. But dressing like that only tells me that you are redneck who won his state because he looks like a redneck, and he speaks a language that they think is about them. But his history in the Senate is one of violating the dress code, leaving at various moment to deal with his mental health issues ( which should have made him resign- I am sorry but if your mental illness is such that you have to leave your job- you can't do your job properly.), putting down other Democrats for their opinions( it's always best to shoot your own- he is a profile in courage), and putting his lips close to the trash dump called Trump. For that alone he should be replaced.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | June 27, 2025 7:03 PM |
Manchin was from deeply red West Virginia, R12, not purple Pennsylvania. Fetterman is in a league of badness with Sinema, not Manchin.

[quote] Manchin ... helped tank Biden's presidency.
Anything, I mean ANYTHING, that Biden got out of a West Virginia senator was gravy. And he got a lot. Manchin gave him a Senate majority his first two years, which not incidentally led to a record number of judicial nominations confirmed, all of whom received Manchin's votes in a narrow majority. Covid-related inflation & Biden's total inability to use the bully pulpit, one of the greatest advantages of a president, not Manchin, proved to be Biden's downfall.

It can work both ways, at least in terms of caucusing with the other party. In the early aughts, Jim Jeffords, elected as a republican from Vermont, decided to caucus with the Democrats, giving the Democrats the majority.

People tend to like their governors, with whom they are more familiar. But that doesn't mean that popularity translates nationally. And as popular as Beshear might be in Kentucky, he wouldn't win the state if he was on a presidential ticket, whether as the presidential or vice presidential nominee.

New Quinnipac poll just came out that has Shapiro with a 60% approval rating in Pennsylvania, one of the highest rated Governors in the country. The Democrats can’t win the White House without Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. Do the math. These Shapiro haters are clueless.

Pennsylvania hasn't had a budget since 7/1/25. Technically, The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is operating illegally.
Shapiro has had 3 1/2 months to whip the PA legislature in line. He has not. If he can't run Pennsylvania government effectively, how will be run the federal government effectively?
Maybe, just maybe, he should worry less about what's going on in Israel and more time on Pennsylvania.
