I feel like you probably could’ve gotten much cheaper cabinets at IKEA.

IKEA cabinets are fine. Kitchen styles change so quickly, what’s the point of spending more? Your tens of thousands of dollars of premium cabinets are going to look old fashioned in five years.

none of those cabinets look old. they look like money burned. And they are filled with art-directed crap. a zillion loose tea bags which will be stale in 3 months.

R3, They match the original cabinets so they look the same age as the house. They did oak versions in the dining room, laundry room cabinets and the master bedroom has 3 walls lined with cupboards. I lived in a house built in the 1870s. The bedroom closets weren’t deep enough for a closet rod and hangers. It had HOOKS ffs. So I don’t blame them. Framing it as a half mil to store Costco hauls is a cheap shot.
