Tonight I got a sub from SUBWAY. The woman ahead of me asked the young guys behind the counter to wash their hands before serving her, despite the fact that they were wearing disposable gloves.
I Don’t Remember Seeing this Before

She should see the kitchen in a real restaurant.

It's fair to assume they touched non-food stuff since they put them on. But that's the chance you take going to a fast food place.

But it's the E. coli that gives the sandwiches that certain special "something."

The Subway bread she then ate had more chemicals in it than the soap the counter guys washed their hands with.

This sounds like a premise for a cop video. “Ofificer, she didn’t wash her hands, I WAS DISRESPECED!”

Disrespected*

I worked in an upscale Chinese restaurant when I was younger and living in New York. Many celebrities visited. The owner/chef won many awards. How we were not shut down by the health department, I will never know. Our kitchen was horrid, most of the servers/cooked rarely washed their hands. We had a huge metal vat of wonton soup, and that thing was only washed maybe every few months. It was so disgusting. Whatever we didn't end up using, they would put in the freezer and just heat it up again the next day. Luckily, I was only 19/20 and didn't care as much. So many customers would act like the Subway lady you mention, OP. "Oh I think my fork doesn't seem clean?" I always wanted to say - omg, if you only knew... that slightly spotty fork is the least of your problems.
Now that I'm older, I look back on that in horror!

The woman is an idiot. If she's a germaphobe, she's better off never in another single restaurant again for the rest of her life.
Also, Subway is not fine dining. Who is she to expect someone to capitulate to her demands? The Queen of England?

*never setting foot inside of a ^^

That lady is delusional. I agree with r8 - if you're a germaphobe, or even just easily grossed out, you're better off just staying at home and cooking your own meals.

I have asked them to change their gloves in the past when I see them touching everything with them. But not this.
