Americans born in the 1960s

Are they the ones who went hardest for Trump?

What makes them so angry? Didn't they grow up with no draft and Roe v. Wade?

by Anonymousreply 33June 21, 2025 7:30 AM

It was the lead poisoning.

by Anonymousreply 1June 21, 2025 3:36 AM

Nah. Our parents and grandparents were the ones who fought for unions and a living wage thru the Depression. They were grateful for FDR and his policies. That never changed. I don’t recognize these asshole Trumpsters. They’re like aliens.

by Anonymousreply 2June 21, 2025 3:44 AM

I was born in 1961, and don't like being lumped into any group.

by Anonymousreply 3June 21, 2025 3:52 AM

I think we're called Generation Jones r3.

by Anonymousreply 4June 21, 2025 3:55 AM

Weren't you guys the real Yuppies just like Bret Easton Ellis?

by Anonymousreply 5June 21, 2025 3:55 AM

I was born in '69 and I did NOT want nor vote for Trump, thank you very much.

by Anonymousreply 6June 21, 2025 4:06 AM

My mom was born in 1960 and no one hates Trump more than her and her friends.

by Anonymousreply 7June 21, 2025 4:17 AM

Why Trump is the Gen X President

by Anonymousreply 8June 21, 2025 4:21 AM

Some were or just wanted to be r5.

by Anonymousreply 9June 21, 2025 4:26 AM

Lmao. Trump is absolutely Gen X's first and last president.

by Anonymousreply 10June 21, 2025 4:27 AM

Laura Ingragam, Ted Cruz, Tucker Carlson, Ann Coulter, Rand Paul, Sarah Palin, Kristi Noem, Mike Lee

by Anonymousreply 11June 21, 2025 4:39 AM

Sad list r11

by Anonymousreply 12June 21, 2025 5:07 AM

R11 and yet they're the ones who want to bring the 1950s back that they never even grew up with.

Maybe because they grew up with Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley, they think they're some entitled expert group on the 1950s?

by Anonymousreply 13June 21, 2025 5:09 AM

R13, more like repeats of Leave it to Beaver, My Three Sons, and Father knows Best. Before hippies and long hair.

by Anonymousreply 14June 21, 2025 5:19 AM

R14 Well what a shame that you went from Leave it to Beaver to American Psycho!

WTF happened to you all?

by Anonymousreply 15June 21, 2025 5:26 AM

I was born in the South in 1961 to very liberal parents who were active in the civil rights movement. My parents HATE Trump. They were both born in the 1930s and are what remains of the Silent Generation. The only way that I would vote for Trump would be if he was running against Hitler himself. My nephews, both born in the middle 1990s, voted for Trump.

by Anonymousreply 16June 21, 2025 6:06 AM

Obama will likely be the only president they'll ever see. I hope they enjoy that.

by Anonymousreply 17June 21, 2025 6:14 AM

[quote] Nah. Our parents and grandparents were the ones who fought for unions and a living wage thru the Depression. They were grateful for FDR and his policies.

Our as in yours. There was tons of opposition. Most of the country was Republican.

by Anonymousreply 18June 21, 2025 6:16 AM

[quote]I think we're called Generation Jones

Obama is Gen Jones, there goes OP's whole thread down the crapper.

by Anonymousreply 19June 21, 2025 6:19 AM

Who cares? What's more important is the youth of America. Why did so many GenZ vote for Trump?

by Anonymousreply 20June 21, 2025 6:25 AM

R20 Probably because they grew up with you ass wipes as their conservative parents?

We never had that problem.

by Anonymousreply 21June 21, 2025 6:31 AM

If you are going to play who the parents are, then Gen-X is not at fault either it's their parents Silent Generation and the Baby Boomers. Which actually makes a lot of sense. Boomers love Trump.

by Anonymousreply 22June 21, 2025 6:38 AM

R22 The Silent Generation were even worse than the Boomers. Look at Mitch McConnell and Rupert Murdoch. The Boomers, believe it or not, were an actual modernizing influence on them.

by Anonymousreply 23June 21, 2025 6:47 AM

I laugh when Gen X brags about their parents being the Silent Generation rather than Boomers.

That just means that these were their parents:

Boomers idea of modernizing was to become the most selfish generation in history. The Me Generation. The silent Gen were live and let live if you didn't agree with them. Boomers are the first gen to make it us vs them. They gave us Regan and the religious right.

by Anonymousreply 25June 21, 2025 7:10 AM

Girl, bye R25. Your Silent Generation parents were absolute shit.

There was absolutely nothing let and live about your Silent Gen parents that I linked at R24.

by Anonymousreply 26June 21, 2025 7:13 AM

The NOT SO Silent Generation:

by Anonymousreply 27June 21, 2025 7:15 AM

Millennials gave us this:

Lauren Boebert - Congress

Matt Gaetz - Congress

Laura Loomer - Trump's personal Influencer

Tomi Lahren - Fox News Host

by Anonymousreply 28June 21, 2025 7:17 AM

And we're STILL better than you, R28.

What has Gen X given us lately?

Do you really want me to go there?

by Anonymousreply 29June 21, 2025 7:20 AM

Gen Z gave us this:

Gen X gave us this:

by Anonymousreply 31June 21, 2025 7:23 AM

Wrong R21, Trump gave us that, and your Gen Z Influencer gave us Trump. How many Gen-X in their 20's were kissing up the the president back in the day with an in person meeting at the White House with a $80,000 gift to the President? NONE. Gen-Z are going to be MONSTERS by they time they reach the current age of Gen-X.
