All my life I've struggled with finding a comfortable pillow no matter what I've tried. At hotels I always love the pillows. I just came into some money. I'm willing to spend up to 150 dollars for a pillow. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Check out The Company Store. Seek 100% cotton for breathability. It will prevent the pillow from getting hot while you sleep. Down, silk, or cotton batting are the most breathable fillings.

If you want to test pillows in person, check out Bloomingdale’s. And make sure to invest in luxurious pillow cases. Silk or percale cotton.

On January 2020 I purchased a memory foam pillow on Amazon - The Aeris Memory Foam Contour Pillow for $42.90. Over five years later and I still sleep on it every night- I even take it with me when I travel. It’s firm yet cushy.

OP. There is only pillow that rises above the rest. It's pricey but luxurious sleep is worth every penny.
Scandia Down.

I tried a buckwheat pillow a few years ago. At first, I didn't think I'd like it, but now I'd say it's the best pillow I have ever used.
YMMV, however.

I swear by Isotonic by Indulgence pillows for 20 years. They’re heavy synthetic that feel like down. Love love love them. Use to buy them at Bed Bath & Beyond, now Macys.

I consulted Consumer Reports and their tests for pillows suitable for back, side, and stomach sleepers.
I wound up buying the highly rated SleepNumber pillow, mainly because it is adjustable with three discrete inserts that can be added or subtracted for individual comfort.
I have no complaints after three years, though it was the most I have paid for a pillow.

I like Canadian Down and Feather Company out of Ontario, and they are absorbing Trump tariffs for their American customers.
Great value (due to weak Canadian dollar) and fantastic quality.

I'm a back sleeper with neck issues (arthritis). Any pillow with memory foam is a game changer for me. Just my 2 cents.

OP, I recommend Downlite pillows. I had one at a B&B where I stayed and I loved it so I bought one for myself

OP here. Thanks for all the advice. I don't like to shop, compare, etc, but I gotta get this done. Maybe I will get a hotel room and steal the pillows.

We've really like the wool filled pillows. Put some in the guest rooms and friends & family love them, end up buying their own. I like the support & washability, they wash up great ¬ mis-shaped.

Hotel pillows are usually very soft. If you remember a hotel pillow ypu loved, call amd ask them the brand.
I prefer firm pillows. Love my Temperpedic king size pillows.

Many years ago, I bought MyPillow king sized pillows at an incredibly low price at Nordstrom Rack. I bought a set of their sheets as well. They were so cheap I figured the manufacturer had to have lost money on them. These many years later, they are my favorite pillows and sheets. I have the pillows professionally cleaned every year and recently I’m embarrassed by their labels.

Bamboo pillow! I’ve never been so comfortable
by Anonymous | reply 25 | June 20, 2025 9:26 PM |
OP trust me, the best pillows you'll ever buy are buckwheat pillows. I splurged several years ago and spent $250.00 each for 2 king size BW pillows. They never get hot as there is always air flowing through them. You can get them much cheaper but you get what you pay for. To be happy you need a thickly filled pillow.

OP, like you the only pillow I loved was at a hotel where I was a frequent guest. A feather and down pillow with the perfect blend. I contacted Guest Services at the hotel and told them I wanted to buy two pillows (new, of course) and they got them for me. The hotel was in Hong Kong and I didn't trust that I could find the exact same pillow in the states. I shipped them home.

I wish I could get by with just one pillow.

It's embarrassing when you have a hookup and you need three of your old cheap flat pillows to fold in half to stick under the bottom to raise his love tunnel high enough.

R17 I couldn’t agree more. Your boyfriend’s furry chest is great support, for sleeping and all sorts of other bed-related activities. Uh, I mean, so you’ve told us.
