DHS randomly chooses “out-of-88” statistic in 14 word titled press release. Nazi dogwhistle exposed!
"The Fourteen Words" (also abbreviated 14 or 1488) is a reference to two slogans originated by the American domestic terrorist David Eden Lane,[1][2] one of nine founding members of the defunct white supremacist terrorist organization The Order,[3] and are accompanied by Lane's "88 Precepts". The slogans have served as a rallying cry for militant white nationalists internationally.[4]
The fourteen words - “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children”
DHS release title - We Must Secure The Border And Build The Wall To Make America Safe Again
Also in the release, an odd choice to represent some metrics here - The increase in claims filed is not associated with an increase in meritorious claims. As of FY 17, the asylum grant rate for defensive applications in immigration court is approximately 30%. On average, out of 88 claims that pass the credible fear screening, fewer than 13 will ultimately result in a grant of asylum.
Do we normally count by 88 in the data analysis field? This is a blatant dogwhistle, likely the staffer involved in preparing this thinks he’s really cute.

OP do you just sit and watch news all day?
These people are scum. But, go outside for a bit - not every negative thing they do has to get reposted.

Republicans = Nazis. No more plausible deniability. Even the "better" Republicans vote for it and go along with it.

Was Lee Harvey Oswald's ghost blowing the dogwhistle?
Conspiracy theorists amaze me. You can never prove them wrong, because everything is a conspiracy to them.
It's like that old saying, don't wrestle with a pig, because...

And, yes, OP. I do work for the CIA.
And count the letters in the above sentence. There is a secret code in there.

R5 come on this is pretty blatant. You may not lurk those circles, but 1488 and the “14 words” are very well known and important to these freaks

I don’t normally give much to conspiracy theories, but this one I believe.

No, it's not.
If it was 15 words, you would have found a way to twist.
Are you analyzing all the other DHS memos for secret codes? I think not. The DHS probably releases 20 memos a month. Do they all have secret conspiracy codes embedded in them?

R11 The OP said “…likely the staffer involved in preparing this thinks he’s really cute.”
I don’t think this was meant to be a triggering event, but I also think there is a cadre of awful nut jobs who get off when they see things like this. And it disgusts me.

Elon's salute was just an innocent gesture that descends from ancient Roman times! Any relation to modern fascism is coincidental!

This isn't a conspiracy theory. This has been documented for decades as originating directly from neo-Nazis.
But the deflection trolls at R5 and R6 know this. They know it very well because they agree with it.

It even starts the same: "We must secure..." And there is simply no logical explanation for presenting a statistic as "13 out of 88." The data would be scaled to "x out of 100" because that is easier for the average person to understand.
Claiming this is a "conspiracy theory" is willful ignorance at best.
At best.

I am NOT a white nationalist, but I used to read Stormfront daily and was kind of obsessed with them. I know way too much about white nationalists from the 1960s-2000s (I stopped following WN around the rise of Trump). I say that to say this: that is an obvious reference to the 14 Words.
