So will Debbie Allen and production designer Wynn Thomas, although they are not so well known for their love of wigwear.

I don’t know why they award honorary Oscars to Tom Cruise and Dolly Parton yet not award them on the Oscars show.

r1, they've done this now for years. I can't remember the last person to receive the Jean Jersholt or any other honorary Oscar onstage--it must have been Blake Edwards.

Dolly is the finest of songwriters and musicians, but why would she be line for an Honorary Oscar? Her contributions to the film world have been minimal.
Yes I'm aware that she wrote "I Will Always Love You" but that does not an Honorary Oscar make.

If Helen Hunt has one for that awful performance, I'm not going to shit on these industry veterans.

She was the above-the-title star of several major releases, including 9 to 5, Rhinestone, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Steel Magnolias, and Straight Talk. That's more than James Dean.
She's getting the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her philanthropy.

Good for them- Streisand’s philanthropy goes back to the 1960s. She’ll probably get the humanitarian award one of these years.
