Bruce Vilanch profiled on CBS Sunday Morning

I’ve been listening to his podcast in which he and another guy talk about Oscar-winning movies/actors/actresses/directors etc, ones that should’ve been nominated instead and the telecast itself. Lots of insight and debate about which movies stand the test of time. He has no use for lists like the AFI list of top 100 films.

He is the right saucy guest for ancients of a certain age.

They are doing him a favor, introducing him to youngsters.

R2 What are some of the more interesting comments? Who does he think should have been nominated? Thanks.

Can I like him without wanting to have sex with him?

Oh gosh r4 I can’t remember, there’s so much detail. His big thing is movies have to be judged the year they came out (ie the awards for that year) and not in hindsight by critics.

There’s a different podcast (which I accidentally unfollowed and now can’t find) that *only* discusses movies more than ten years old and if they stand the test of time.

There should have been a sitcom with Bruce and Allee Willis playing siblings.

Who is she? Who was she? Who does she hope to be?

He's still alive!

Bruce is very entertaining. He really aged overnight. I saw him a few years ago and he seemed like he’s always seemed. He looks frail now.

I’ve always wondered what Bruce would look like in normal clothes and haircut. Probably still pretty bizarre.

He lost weight but it all seems to have gone to his wattle.

Random, but this is the most interesting sentence from his Wikipedia page:

“Having her own theatrical aspirations, Vilanch's mother helped launch her son's show business career by getting him signed on with Lane Bryant's Charming Chub division as a chubby child model.”

r16 Lane Bryant never sold boys' clothing, so unless he was cross-dressing, that seems like something that was a malicious edit.
