One thing that fascinated me about Avenatti's TV relationship with Trump is that no matter how much or how accurately he attacked, Trump never once struck back that I can recall. (Remember Huckabeast saying when Trump gets hit, he hits back harder?) Was Trump aware of investigations and what awaited Avenatti or was it that he couldn't deal with another alpha male striking?
Former DL fave Michael Avenatti (remember him?) gets an extra 8 in the clink

He was at the hearing in gray sweatpants. Are there pictures?

I still would pay to watch him power-fuck the person of his choice.

Even Trump wasn't stupid enough to take this clown seriously.
But Ari Melber and Rachel Maddow (just to name a few) sure wanted to kiss his ass.

So Ari and Rachel are stupider than Trump, r3?

If the shoe fits, R4.
Need I remind you that Ms. Maddow also made a jack ass out of herself when she held up what she claimed was page 1 of Trump's tax return and proudly proclaimed "Gotcha!!" Fact of the matter is, a single page of a single tax return proves absolutely nothing, regardless of whether or not that tax return belongs to me, you or Trump. But Maddow and her editors ran with it and in the process, made complete jack asses out of themselves.

I wouldn't mind an extra 8 once in a while, but not that kind, if you catch my meaning (wink, wink).

R5 Pepperidge Farm remembers
by Anonymous | reply 7 | June 13, 2025 6:46 PM |
R5 comes along to remind us that liberals/Democrats have absolutely 100% perfect all the time and under all circumstances while anyone conservative/Republican gets a pass... no matter what.
I remember Avenatti being one of the few people (like his client Stormy) willing to stand up to Trump and fight back. I remember when Rachel overhyped the tax return pages she got her hands on. I agreed with her editorial decision to play them up; it was, IIRC, sweeps week. And she did have something more than anyone else at the time... but because it was inconclusive or more plainly stated, proved nothing, R5 holds it out to dismiss all of the brilliant work Maddow has done over the years, how her research is impeccable, and how she is one of the few journalists working today that can claim ownership of the title. I remember when Ari Melber put Avenatti on... and grilled him. It's sad that Avenatti turned out to be a shyster and infuriating that he stole from Stormy, but he's been held to account. And certainly, Rachel's reputation took a hit when page(s) of one return ended up moot.
But let's face facts: Trump is guilty of 34 felonies, and has paid no price for it. He paid off Stormy Daniels to stay quiet when it might have made a difference, and hid the payments via a complicated transaction that caused himself and others to violate the law, and has paid no price for it. Trump has stolen $billions from his employees, contractors, investors, banks, countries, and even the charity he set up for children... and has paid no price for it.
And somehow, R5 wants us to hold Maddow, Melber and Avenatti in contempt, while simultaneously holding Trump in high regard because he has paid no price for his crimes. I want to know when we passed through the looking glass into this world where right is wrong and wrong is right, people who've done nothing are held to account while those who perpetrate death, destruction and mayhem get off scot-free, and there seems to be nothing we can do about it. And now we have to sit back and watch everything we've worked for, everything that actually made America great, get flushed down a gold-plated toilet as the worst people in this country burn through the little equity this nation has left. Make it make sense!

Avenatti was a lawyer for porn actresses. His wife looked like a porn star wanabe. I get people were excited by him but he was clearly a total sleeze. Trump was careful not to respond to him with insults so I guess Avenatti did have something on him. The brilliant Ms. Maddow should have identified him as troubled in about 5 seconds. Is she really so brilliant?

I believe I was the first to post a Michael Avenatti thread. I was so excited! Not only did we have the first brave warrior to stand up to Trump, but he was smart, aggressive, and funny. Yes, he was arrogant, but he was hot as hell and I thought I was the first to discover DL's next icon!
Should I be tarred and feathered??

I'd have a conjugal visit with him.

Did Maddow have him on much? I only watched her show sporadically or when there was a major story. I watched Nicolle Wallace daily and she had him on a lot.
Everyone wanted to be around him back then. Look at this group of self-obsessed attention seekers.

Avenatti was a star! But his ego got way too much out of control, especially when he started to openly flirt with the idea of running for POTUS himself. It was soon after that all the legal trouble started.
At first, I was certain Trump had sicced the feds on him, but after seeing all the legitimate cases against him, (including Stormy Daniels'), I was surprised he had originally made such a spectacle.
Huge disappointment. HUGE!!
