A source tells Page Six that Dakota Johnson and her longtime beau — Coldplay rocker Chris Martin — called things off because he wouldn’t set a date to tie the knot, among other reasons.
“She was sick of him dragging his feet on setting a date for the wedding,” says the source.
The pair had an on-again, off-again relationship since 2017.
Last week news broke that they’d split when a source told People things felt “final this time.”
The couple was also rumored to have called it quits in June 2019.
But they reconciled at the time and even sparked engagement rumors the following December when Johnson was spotted with a massive emerald on her ring finger.
An insider told Page Six last March that the pair had actually been engaged for six years, though another source told People they were “in no rush to get married.”
Our source told Page Six that the pair also decided to end things over their disagreements about having children.
“They broke up over Chris Martin not wanting to have more kids,” says our source.
The “Yellow” singer, 48, has two children with Gwyneth Paltrow, while Johnson, 35, has never been married and has no children.
A source previously told the Sun, “They really tried to work through their issues but the age gap was often a problem. She’d [also] expressed that she may want children in the future, whereas Chris is kind of done with that part of his life.”
The source further told the outlet that Johnson and Martin had been “back and forth on issues for years” — and had discussions about everything, including children.
