So, what is your favorite Deborah Kerr performance?

I voted for Black Narcissus but my favourite Deborah Kerr movie is probably Seperate Tables. Terrence Rattigan rules

It IS your favorite Deborah Kerr performance!

OP, you’re really reaching.

The Innocents for me. Jamesian ambiguity and dread. Doll-like children enchanting, charming, and, finally, for Miss Giddens threatening, dark, corrupted. For me it has always been a perfect movie.
Second choice: Hannah Jelkes in Night of the Iguana.
Third choice, which is not in your poll, OP: Tea and Sympathy, which spoke to my lil tender gay heart when I first saw it and knew I was a doomed queen only to discover in my maturity that I was as honorable and sturdy and steadfast as any straight man. (I know, Oh. Mary!)

AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER should be better known. It’s a shockingly intelligent, adult movie for 1955.

You lost the high points, OP, but O have great affection for her sane, lowkey performance in “The Hucksters.” The adline for ittalked about “Introducing Deborah Kerr, Rhymes With Star!”

Tea And Sympathy.

The Innocents

The Innocents. It's one of my favorite horror films, and she's fantastic in it. Such a multilayered performance. Black Narcissus and From Here to Eternity are also great.

Correction: In R6 I meant
THE END OF THE AFFAIR as a shockingly adult movie for 1955.

I wish I voted for The Sundowners, because even though I prefer her work in Black Narcissus, she’s wonderful in that film and the performance deserves to have at least one vote. It’s definitely a movie that people should seek out.
