Pete Sampras looks like an old Greek man!

Pete Sampras was seen out and about during a rare public appearance.

The former tennis star, 53, was spotted making a coffee run in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Tuesday, June 3.

Sampras wore a dark gray Nike T-shirt and gray shorts while he carried two drinks in a beverage holder in one hand and a shopping bag in the other.

The athlete was last seen publicly in December 2024. Before that, he made a rare public appearance at the 2019 BNP Paribas Open, where he played with Novak Djokovic in an exhibition match.

Sampras — also referred to as “Pistol Pete” for his serve — is well-known as one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

He began his professional tennis career in 1988, when he was 16 years old. Sampras retired in 2002 after winning a then-record 14 Grand Slam titles and ending the year ranked as the ATP No. 1 player in the world from 1993 to 1998.

The Hall-of-Famer, inducted in 2007, famously won seven Wimbledon titles, five U.S. Open championships and two Australian Opens over the course of his illustrious career.

In recent years, Sampras has remained largely away from the public eye.

r14, we've ALWAYS been told that tipping ensures proper service. IOW, it provides incentive for the worker to work harder, and it's about the WORKER, not the patron. But you're telling us it really IS about the patron, not the worker. Hmmmmm. Interesting. That basically blows the whole rationale for tipping right out of the water.

I wouldn't put too much credence into anything Agassi had to say about Sampras. Agassi was the star first and yet it was Sampras who won his first major before Andre humiliating him in the finals of the U.S. Open. Sampras wound up having the upper hand in their rivalry and having the better record/career, and was in the GOAT conversation before the emergence of Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic. Suffice to say, anything Andre has to say about Pete is probably going to be tinged with jealousy/bitterness. Also, Agassi was notorious for making homophobic cracks ('happy as a faggot in a submarine' was one Andre bon mot to the press after winning a match) which are well documented.

How does Agassi know how much Sampras tipped? He wasn't present.

Pete was/is notoriously cheap. I remember some players (Roddick and maybe Gimelstob) dragging him sort of in good humor about how he NEVER picked up the check when players went out to eat. Even when he was a multiple-major champion and he was with younger and much less successful players.

Best quip about Pete was when AA remarked that Pete looked like he had just fallen out of a tree.
