His approval is down to 45 as well.
Trump disapproval at a new high for second term
by Anonymous | reply 38 | June 3, 2025 6:42 PM |
I can't believe it's still that high
by Anonymous | reply 1 | June 2, 2025 8:09 PM |
It should be a 100% disapproval.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | June 2, 2025 8:17 PM |
AT least 4 out of 10 Americans will drink Trump's Kool-Aid, no matter what. That figure will never change.

I wish they would, the kind laced with cyanide.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | June 2, 2025 8:46 PM |
Guess what, he doesn’t care.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | June 2, 2025 9:03 PM |
What’s it matter? He’s in office. He has all the power. The Supreme Court ruled that nothing he does is illegal.
We are fucked.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | June 2, 2025 9:21 PM |
Who was the last president that cared about approval polling? Clinton? Sure as hell wasn’t W.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | June 2, 2025 9:24 PM |
Did you even look at the article?
It's Newsweek (marginal), and the queen of bad polling Nate Silver says AtlasIntel (??) is the best polling firm. I mean, compared to what?
Not even close to being true.
Find a better source, Nate.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | June 2, 2025 9:34 PM |
R8, AtlasIntel really nailed the last two presidential elections, including polling that showed the '20 race much closer in the swing states than other pollsters found. It deserves to be regarded as a premier pollster.

He still looks great, though, in OP’s pic.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | June 2, 2025 10:55 PM |
He looks like silly putty in a suit, r10
by Anonymous | reply 11 | June 2, 2025 11:39 PM |
R10 = trump the hump himself.

Insane that 45% of Americans think he’s going a good job. I feel like I live in a nut house.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | June 2, 2025 11:50 PM |
Trump has undeniable sex appeal.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | June 2, 2025 11:55 PM |
It depends on what poll you want to follow. Some have him way down, others way up.
One thing to remember though, is that Trump does not do well in polls. He was under estimated in 2016 and 2024.
For what it's worth: RealClear has his polling average at a 47.1 approval. And RealClear was accurate in 2024.
Trumps low numbers would be significant if Democrats were viewed more favorably. But the Dem numbers are even worse.

Polling averaging is generally a mess. And that's usually true with RCP, which includes a lot of inferior, right-leaning, pollsters, which skews the averaging in favor of republican candidates.

It's the Murdoch/Marketing/Analytics Machine.
They soldus adugarcoated bag of shit a SECOND TIME.
THEY'RE EATING THE DOGS!!!
by Anonymous | reply 18 | June 3, 2025 12:26 AM |
Dems numbers are down because everyone is shitting on them. Dems never learn not to disparage your own party no matter what. Republicans learned this lesson well.

It’s truly unfortunate how lack of education and the rise of rightwing propaganda have brought out the tribalism of heartland America in the absolute worst way.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | June 3, 2025 12:36 AM |
When 90% of the media down to local stations are corporate owned spewing right wing narratives and propaganda Democrats are going to have a tough time no matter what. Republicans play the long game now the right wing infrastructure in this country is formidable.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | June 3, 2025 12:40 AM |
It hasn't helped the Dems that it really hasn't had a national spokesperson since Obama left the White House. Biden squandered the bully pulpit, while Trump has spoken - ad nauseam - on behalf of Republicans ever since.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | June 3, 2025 12:42 AM |
R23 It wouldn’t matter since the media just lets Republicans lie nonstop.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | June 3, 2025 12:55 AM |
As soon as an election is lost, Democrats start the infighting and circular firing squad. Republicans always circle the wagons and double down, even on a POS like Trump that will guarantee them losing the House and possibly the Senate.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | June 3, 2025 12:59 AM |
It's an all time hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh
by Anonymous | reply 26 | June 3, 2025 1:03 AM |

CNN June 2nd 2025:
"CNN’s chief data analyst Harry Enten on Monday revealed how Democrats’ messaging on the economy continues to fare worse than Republicans’ over four months into President Donald Trump’s second term."
"“How is that possible, Democrats?” asked Enten in a segment with CNN’s Kate Bolduan."
“How is that possible after all the recession fears, after the stock market’s been doing all of this, after all the tariffs that Americans are against, and Republicans still hold an 8-point lead on the economy. Are you kidding me?”
"Enten turned to new CNN/SRS polling from May showing the GOP had an 8-percentage-point advantage with registered voters who were asked which party more closely aligned with their economic views — a figure within the margin of error."
"Republicans also had an edge among registered voters who were asked which party had a better economic plan, per Reuters/Ipsos polling, with a 9-percentage-point advantage in May 2024 and a 12-point advantage this past month."

R28, no one ever said that Americans were the sharpest tools in the shed.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | June 3, 2025 7:51 AM |
Certainly not I, R29.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | June 3, 2025 9:54 AM |
How the hell is Trump's approval rating even at 45 percent?
Way too fucking high! Moron Americans still supporting this criminal.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | June 3, 2025 5:07 PM |
Democrats still have no plan or unified message except hoping that Trump fucks up before the midterms to the point that it matters to voters who stayed home during the last election.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | June 3, 2025 5:16 PM |
^^The Democrats have been quite unified in defending working Americans and those receiving Medicaid against Trump's unconscionable budget bill.
The Dems have also been unified in letting people know that this budget bill gives unnecessary to tax breaks to billionaires and blows a $4 trillion whole in the nation's debt.
R32. What more would you like?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | June 3, 2025 5:22 PM |
There is also the fact that the next general election is more than 3 years away. The focus now needs to be on the midterms. How those shape up will help define strategy for the general and possibly reveal potential candidates.

[quote] The Democrats have been quite unified in defending working Americans and those receiving Medicaid against Trump's unconscionable budget bill.
The problem is that the Medicaid cuts don't kick in until after the midterms.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | June 3, 2025 5:51 PM |
^^Yes, the Repigs designed the bill so that the Medicare cuts don't kick in until after the midterms...so the Repigs can run in 2026 and say, "See, only the tax cuts for billionaires kicked in immediately--and there are no cuts to Medicare" (until 2027). The Repigs figure if the Dems retake the House of Representatives during the midterm election, then the Dems will be blamed for the Medicare cuts.

So many states have expanded Medicaid coverage that it is not just for the poorest among us.
More than 50 percent of births in the United States benefit from Medicaid coverage.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | June 3, 2025 6:37 PM |
And some states, like Missouri, have enshrined expanded Medicaid into their constitutions. That explains why Josh Hawley has suddenly become such a defender of Medicaid. He knows that his state will have to make deep cut in other popular services & programs if the House bill becomes law.
