CHUZE vs. PLANET FITNESS vs. CRUNCH vs. LA FITNESS?

My semi-private training gym is closing. I'm going to work with one of my former trainers virtually (via an app), but will just go to a 'regular' gym to do all of my strength training workouts by myself, referencing the programs he's built for me on an app.

I have to choose which 'regular' gym to go to. Locally, I'm choosing between Chuze (which is what all Bailey's are now called), Planet Fitness, Crunch or LA Fitness.

Are you a member of any of these gyms? Likes/dislikes?

I'm very familiar with LA Fitness and Planet Fitness. I hae the latter, it looks and feels like jail cell. There is something called the lunk alarm in Planet Fitness. It's used to shame people who grunt loudly or drop their weights. But some places are a lot more liberal with how they use the alarm. I've heard of places using it to shame women wearing "suggestive" attire. LA Fitness is ok, it's very similar to Xsport.

I go to Planet Fitness. I like the 24/7 hours, the 30-minute Workout area, and the number of treadmills. It's popular with all ages. I've never heard the "Lunk Alarm" go off. Clean locker rooms and showers, too.

Crunch Fitness opens at 5am and closes at 11pm M-Th, 9pm Friday, and 5pm Saturday. This is in northwest Vermont,

I used to go to PF and I switched to LA Fitness thinking the extra money meant it would be a lot nicer. The machines are better but they're worn-out and the gym/locker room are far dirtier than PF. I wish I had a luxury gym in my area.

R3, most of the LA Fitness gyms near me all seem to be dirty most of the time.

For $10 or $25 bucks a month PF gets the job done, What I like about it is they are pretty consistent no matter which one you go to. Another good point is that they are everywhere now, so if you travel you can usually find one. In my area they have recently remodeled a few of them which shows they are making money and they give a fuck.

Never equated LA Fitness with luxury. They are a normal gym, but they charge more and have fewer locations. Like all gyns, they are a financial mess too.

WTF is a Chuze?

Chuze is a chain which now owns (and is rebranding) Baileys. They apparently have a lot more equipment and facilities than Planet Fitness. They're more on par with Crunch. Apparently, more of their locations are open 24 hours/7days a week. A LOT of Planet Fitness locations now only stay open 24 hours 4-5 days a wk and have much more limited hours on Fridays and weekends. Plus, Planet Fitness doesn't have free barbells for bench press, deadlifts, squats etc.
