‘Stranger Things’ The Final Season trailer is here!

Ok, I hate to say this because I am not a fan of this series after season one, but this final season looks amazing. I may end up watching it. This looks amazing.

I really have enjoyed the show. But how long has it been since the last season ended? I hope they show a long recap.

After the finale, I can finally cancel my netflix subscription..

by Anonymousreply 1June 1, 2025 1:56 AM

W00T! Can’t wait.

And I love that sexy David harbour’s hairy ass

by Anonymousreply 2June 1, 2025 2:04 AM

I bet Will dies

by Anonymousreply 3June 1, 2025 3:30 AM

r3 I don't think the writers are great but I doubt they'd be that obvious who dies or play bury your gays and expect to survive the backlash.

by Anonymousreply 4June 1, 2025 3:40 AM

I am happy they're letting him do something story related other than pine over that sack of shit Mike again though.

by Anonymousreply 5June 1, 2025 3:42 AM

They should bring back Billy's denim clad ass.

by Anonymousreply 6June 1, 2025 3:48 AM

Billy has been dead for a long time now

by Anonymousreply 7June 1, 2025 6:20 AM

Is this going to be split into two seasons?

by Anonymousreply 8June 1, 2025 6:36 AM

R8 the trailer tells you this.

Part one is released November 26, Part 2 is released Christmas Day, The Final Episode is released on New Years

by Anonymousreply 9June 1, 2025 6:48 AM

Billy was useless. The whole storyline of his sister mourning him is stupid.

by Anonymousreply 10June 1, 2025 11:31 AM

[quote] November 26, Part 2 is released Christmas Day, The Final Episode is released on New Years

I know people aren't working those days but is Netflix expecting people to get up from Thanksgiving/ Christmas dinner and go watch 8 hours of Stranger Things?

by Anonymousreply 11June 1, 2025 12:25 PM

I would

by Anonymousreply 12June 1, 2025 1:08 PM

But does it look amazing, OP?!

by Anonymousreply 13June 1, 2025 1:16 PM

What exactly looks amazing, OP? They didn't show shit. I'm over it. People have attended 4 years of school since the last season.

by Anonymousreply 14June 1, 2025 2:30 PM

I like it

by Anonymousreply 15June 1, 2025 2:31 PM

They’ve aged 10 years but it’s only supposed to be 4 years later?

by Anonymousreply 16June 1, 2025 2:32 PM

Sounds exciting

by Anonymousreply 17June 1, 2025 2:34 PM

r16 I think I read the finale parts take place around Mike, Will's etc highshool graduation so like 6 years later which they can probably just about get away with. Another season would have been pushing Dawson's Creek level though.

R18 “ The fifth and final season kicks off in the fall of 1987.” The timeline was 1983 when the show started in 2016.

by Anonymousreply 19June 1, 2025 2:47 PM

That does push it a bit

by Anonymousreply 20June 1, 2025 4:53 PM

We need to go back to traditional tv filming. We shouldnt be getting season 5 almost A DECADE after the show started. They were KIDS in that first season.

However, the show taking place over 4 years is fine. They can all still pass for 15 or 16, thankfully. None of them look too old now.

by Anonymousreply 21June 1, 2025 8:43 PM

Sure, Jan. Illeana Douglas Jr. looks early 30s.

by Anonymousreply 22June 1, 2025 11:37 PM

I watch a couple episodes and tagged out....not really into a series about kids.

by Anonymousreply 23June 2, 2025 2:19 AM

You're in luck. They're older than the Melrose Place cast now.

by Anonymousreply 24June 2, 2025 6:51 AM

LOL at people being upset the cast is "too old" to be high schoolers.

Considering the fact we all grew up on the "teens" on Welcome Back, Kotter and Grease and Carrie and Bev Hills 90210 and Buffy TVS and pretty much every show with high school aged kids played by actors in their 20s and sometimes 30s, it should be ok.

by Anonymousreply 25June 2, 2025 6:58 AM

Also, there had better be some major characters dying...none of that bullshit where they're too sentimental to kill off 'beloved' characters.

Hopefully, Billy Bobby Brown doesn't survive.

by Anonymousreply 26June 2, 2025 7:03 AM

R25 it’s all performative bullshit.

These actors are in their early 20s and look like they could be teens. Their faces haven’t matured yet.

Adults have been playing teens since James Dean did in 1955 (playing a 16 year old in both East of Eden and Rebel at 24 years old). We’ve seen it to no end since, including recent shows like Euphoria and Overcompensating

by Anonymousreply 27June 2, 2025 7:04 AM

I’m calling it. . . David harbour looks nasty and sexy at the same time

by Anonymousreply 28June 2, 2025 12:48 PM

I’m amazed there are still fans of this shit, much more so that there appear to be at least two rabid fan fraus here on DL. I supposed it’s escapism for lonely people when many others watch for the actual storyline. But when the show’s been off the air for at least one presidential terms and people in junior high during the last season have now graduated from high school, maybe that’s a sign that the producers shouldn’t be making television shows.

by Anonymousreply 29June 2, 2025 4:00 PM

I love it. Can’t imagine why you wouldn’t

by Anonymousreply 30June 2, 2025 5:01 PM

Different people like different things. We aren’t the same.

On another note, the season 1 score was brilliant and I still listen to it from time to time. An amazing score. “Kids” is just phenomenal.

Winona Ryder was robbed of an Emmy nomination for that first season too.

[quote] I’m amazed there are still fans of this shit,

A relatively bland teaser that was just 90% stuff from old seasons has nearly 10 million views after only a day. If Avatar 2 can break records over a decade after the fist one I don't know why people genuinely beilieved people weren't going to be interested in what is probably the biggest pop culture show since GoT.

by Anonymousreply 32June 2, 2025 5:27 PM

OP - Almost ALL THE CLIPS in the trailer are from shows years ago.

by Anonymousreply 33June 2, 2025 5:30 PM

R33 the opening clip isn’t. And the final 10-15 seconds aren’t.

by Anonymousreply 34June 2, 2025 5:42 PM

So like I said. Almost all old clips.

by Anonymousreply 35June 2, 2025 5:50 PM

We don’t care. It still is a well done teaser for a final season to a popular series.

by Anonymousreply 36June 2, 2025 5:53 PM

They’re all in their 40s now, aren’t they?

Are they going to plug the hole to the Upside Down with their AARP cards?

by Anonymousreply 37June 2, 2025 5:55 PM

"Ok, I hate to say this because I am not a fan of this series after season one, but this final season looks amazing. I may end up watching it. This looks amazing."

So you are not a fan. BUT THIS LOOKS AMAZING!!!!! Yet it's mostly clips from past seasons. Because they are all VERY old so they don't dare show many new faces. Ok, twat.

by Anonymousreply 38June 2, 2025 5:57 PM

I can't with this show. Shouldn't it be well into the 90s at this point? It would be fun seeing them as college students in the grunge era but I guess they need to beat the 80s aesthetic like a dead horse.

by Anonymousreply 39June 2, 2025 5:59 PM

R38 they’re all in their early 20s now lmao. Please be for real.

by Anonymousreply 40June 2, 2025 6:03 PM

and, in defense of the producers and Netflix, Covid fucked things up production wise. It wasn't intentional that it got stretched out this long.

And, several members of the cast got "big" and they had to work out complicated schedules.

by Anonymousreply 41June 2, 2025 9:18 PM

I went and looked it up...The first drop on thanksgiving will be 4 episodes, then the Xmas drop is 3 episodes and New Years will be the final episode.

by Anonymousreply 42June 2, 2025 9:48 PM

I enjoy it

by Anonymousreply 43June 2, 2025 10:23 PM

R42 not only are the dates posted on this thread already, but they’re literally in the video at OP

by Anonymousreply 44June 2, 2025 10:35 PM

R44 The dates have been posted but not how many episodes were dropping on each date.

Also: fuck you, you pedantic twat.

by Anonymousreply 45June 2, 2025 11:53 PM

Dates are posted

by Anonymousreply 46June 3, 2025 3:10 AM

[quote] Shouldn't it be well into the 90s at this point?

They should all have an ipod this season

by Anonymousreply 47June 3, 2025 3:45 AM

No. Because it’s a show. It’s not real time.

by Anonymousreply 48June 3, 2025 3:46 AM

[quote] and, in defense of the producers and Netflix, Covid fucked things up production wise. It wasn't intentional that it got stretched out this long.

The producers and Netflix should not be excused. They waited 2 years between seasons 2 and 3, which fucked things up. If season 3 aired in 2018 instead of 2019 and season 4 aired in 2019 instead of 2022 and season 5 aired in 2020 instead of 2025, this show would've been done a loooooong time ago.

by Anonymousreply 49June 3, 2025 3:47 AM

Streaming doesn’t know how to make tv shows in a timely manner. Network tv pumped out 20-30 episodes a season every year. These shows are like 8-10 episodes and take years to get done.

Euphoria season 3 started filming in February and won’t be done until October and is costing HBO between $200-$400 million to make. It’s getting ridiculous. That’s a show that doesn’t even have special effects.

by Anonymousreply 50June 3, 2025 3:54 AM

Like, this is just ridiculous. All these streamers suck at time Management and finance management.

R50, some of the last episodes too were 90 minutes long!

by Anonymousreply 52June 3, 2025 12:27 PM

Hope they've got better at effectively using that time. The last few seasons about 3/4 of the characters have had fuck all to do despite ballooning the episode length. Its not a mystery why Steve and Dustin are the only ones most people like anymore.

by Anonymousreply 53June 3, 2025 12:45 PM

I’ve been watching it in preparation for the final season coming out later this year. I’ve never stopped and watched past a few episodes when it first came out. Season one was actually good! The writing was good, the pacing was phenomenal (never too slow or boring or unbalanced) and the story was tightly written and very focused. The acting was amazing. Idk if David Harbor won an Emmy for that first season but I’m pretty sure he was at least nominated. It’s much deserved. He was tremendous on that first season. Winona Ryder being edged out of the nomination for Millie Bobby Brown is ridiculous. Winona was amazing that first season. Millie was actually very good too, but a lot of why is because she didn’t have many lines. It worked.

Season two is not nearly as good. I’m shocked so many people online say two is better because I found it to be a mess. The story feels all over the place, new characters adding useless subplots (I’m looking at you Billy, who is completely useless), the pacing feels off this season (it’s only 9 episodes but feels longer for some reason) and Millie Bobby Brown is awful this season! Her acting is so bad!!! Like cringe level bad at times. They should have just kept El mostly mute again.

Oh, and the way they killed off Sean Astin was predictable and stupid. I hated it.

by Anonymousreply 54June 3, 2025 1:12 PM

r54 I've seen quite a lot of people hate 2 because all they remember is that shit Chicago episode. Personally I liked it because it felt like the last season of what ST was originally meant to be a supernatural mystery show centred round the Byers family in small town 80s USA.

by Anonymousreply 55June 3, 2025 1:22 PM

IMHO, season 3 is miles better than season 2.

by Anonymousreply 56June 3, 2025 10:57 PM

I hope they bring back Barb for the finale!

by Anonymousreply 57June 3, 2025 11:18 PM

How many years has it been on? I couldn’t finish the first season. I know money is the reason they keep flogging these shows.

by Anonymousreply 58June 4, 2025 12:36 AM

This shit is still on?

by Anonymousreply 59June 4, 2025 12:51 AM

Steve and Dustin better make bank
