Many Trump supporters feel betrayed as Trump asks a company to create a sophisticated database of all american citizens

They have spent years saying Trump is the saviour to stop the'New world order' and now increasing numbers are screaming that he has tricked and betrayed them and he is part of the new world order. Apparently he has a company called palantir which I believe is or was connected to Peter Thiel.

OP, Thiel founded the company. He calls himself a libertarian while supporting big government shit like this

They voted for the Leopards Eating Faces party though. And it’s beyond sick that technofascists use Tolkien references for their products.

by Anonymousreply 2May 31, 2025 9:03 PM

Once the party that always screamed about individual liberty and personal responsibility and wanted to minimize government interference in people's personal lives. LOL.

by Anonymousreply 3May 31, 2025 9:06 PM

This is illegal. Not that he cares. Musk already took all the data.

by Anonymousreply 4May 31, 2025 9:16 PM

The GOP was the party that championed no goverment interference in the affairs of private businesses.

Now, the titular leader of the GOP, a man whose businesses filed for bankruptcy numerous times, has no problem telling other businesses how they should operate.

He was ALL about being inaugurated again as a narcissist, since there was a desperate need to make up for the 2020 election. I was hoping that he'd exit screaming at his followers that "both parties are corrupt!" However, I'll take this news instead. My shadenfreude will come when the Republicans see he used them, not giving a feck about their downfall from his insane, destructive actions

[quote]increasing numbers are screaming

Their normal resting state.

by Anonymousreply 7May 31, 2025 9:39 PM

Republicans were never the party of limited government or privacy. It was all meaningless platitudes.

by Anonymousreply 8May 31, 2025 9:45 PM

Puking grifting scum

by Anonymousreply 9May 31, 2025 9:48 PM

What R8 said. All of that bullshit with their little copies of the Constitution in their shirt pockets. Bunch of animals.

by Anonymousreply 10May 31, 2025 9:53 PM

As long as we're on the topic, Republicans were never the party of freedom, democracy or patriotism. It was all bullshit stupid Americans lapped up like kittens lap up milk.

by Anonymousreply 11May 31, 2025 10:33 PM

They’re gonna look up everyone who ever donated to ActBlue. Guaranteed. Those who have will be in trouble.

by Anonymousreply 12May 31, 2025 10:37 PM

You realize what this for? When Trump has someone he wants to punish or shut up he’ll have his people go over the “file” which will have all of their tax returns, social security information, medical data, criminal investigations, security background checks, etc. and find something to threaten them with.

The law says that any information you give to the government for any purpose is to be segregated from all other information the government may have for different purposes and no one without a legitimate government purpose is allowed to see it. Now political enforcers will be able to call all of it up at will and look through it

Just like in totalitarian states.

Oh. In twwwwwoooooooble!

by Anonymousreply 14May 31, 2025 11:01 PM

his congress is letting all this happen. I suppose this is what hundreds of them want. how can we ever go back to standard operating government after this?

by Anonymousreply 15May 31, 2025 11:04 PM

Leopards ate my face.......wwwaaaahhhhhhhh!

by Anonymousreply 19June 1, 2025 9:36 PM

*sigh*

Trump's supporters are not going to turn on him.

In fact, he'll keep gaining more followers, as the Democrats start getting desperate and crazier.

The Democratic Party as we know it is going extinct.

by Anonymousreply 20June 1, 2025 9:47 PM

Maybe not a singular database, but doesn't this sort of already collectively exist.

No they don’t. These are the people who would sacrifice their own families to him.

Nothing will ever make them turn against Trump and THIS is why Dems keep losing — they just refuse to face that fact and they keep sticking to the delusion that MAGAts will come to their senses one day. They won’t.

by Anonymousreply 25June 2, 2025 12:29 AM

Dems are not losing. You magats are cheating

The idea that Trump is losing support among his most hardcore supporters is nothing more than wishful thinking.

by Anonymousreply 28June 2, 2025 5:44 PM

The idea that his supporters can even find and absorb accurate information and adjust their thinking accordingly is absurdly wishful thinking.

by Anonymousreply 29June 2, 2025 5:52 PM

In a CNN interview with a 55-year old Pennsylvania man who cast his FIRST ever vote - for Trump - in 2024, the man, at risk of losing his job, said he would just not vote again if things didn’t go well for him under Trump. He was most exorcised about trans people & men openly kissing other men.

by Anonymousreply 30June 2, 2025 6:03 PM

[quote] his congress is letting all this happen. I suppose this is what hundreds of them want. how can we ever go back to standard operating government after this?

Standard operating procedures ended with Trump and others having their tax forms leaked. There’s no going back now. People shouldn’t have been so short-sighted.
