Honest question about Pee Wee Herman's 1991 arrest...... Why was this even a thing?
I watched his documentary on HBO Max, and he talked about that incident. I was always under the impression that those kinds of places were specifically designed for that kind of activity. I was at an adult theatre in Amsterdam once and some guy was jerking off and no one cared. Same thing in San Francisco at the Nob Hill Theatre. In my younger sluttier days I even sucked a couple guys in video booths, although not a lot. My ex and I even sucked each other off through glory holes in video booths in Times Square once,
Do police really get that outraged about what people do in an adults-only venue that is specifically designed for adult activity?

And the fact that they needed two cops to patrol the aisles.
They prob had to make their arrest quota for the month.
S. Epatha Merkeson said in an interview that the show was not canceled due to the arrest. It was in its last season, the incident happened in July, and the show had already stopped production a while before and only any remaining reruns were taken off the schedule before it would have permanently gone off the air in September anyhow. She said look at his hair when he was arrested - he had not acted as Pee Wee in a while.
