OMG they’ve all aged!
Bobby is a GROWN MAN!

This looks great! Now I have to watch the last 4 seasons I skipped to catch up.
I hope Connie reappears
by Anonymous | reply 1 | May 31, 2025 3:26 AM |
Propane and propane accessories.
How are they going to do this without Dale? (RIP, Johnny Hardwick.) Brad Pitt going to show up again?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | May 31, 2025 3:28 AM |
I really loved this show. It’s not on any free streaming channels.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | May 31, 2025 3:29 AM |
Toby Huss (Khan (which is being recast) and Cotton) is taking over the role of Dale.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | May 31, 2025 3:39 AM |
How are they going to do it without Luanne, r2?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 31, 2025 3:39 AM |
It ain't “aint” Cissy Cobb. The word is “Acquaintanceship” as in it was not my pleasure to make yours. I win!
by Anonymous | reply 6 | May 31, 2025 3:44 AM |
You can see Luanne leaving in the credits, so I assume she’s moved away. They also show Bill having COVID and then you don’t see him again in the credits and that made me worry but Stephen Root is returning so I guess they didn’t kill him
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 31, 2025 3:47 AM |
No way they would’ve done this without the legendary Billdozer.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 31, 2025 3:54 AM |
I think that is Cotton's wife, r7.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 31, 2025 3:55 AM |
Will Peggy start an OnlyFans as a squeal to her foot fetish episode?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 31, 2025 3:57 AM |
Will Bobby succumb to the temptations of lutefisk again?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 31, 2025 4:20 AM |
[quote]Bobby is a GROWN MAN!
That man ain't right.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 31, 2025 4:24 AM |
If only The Simpsons had the balls to let the characters age. It would breathe new life into the series. I’d sure as hell start watching the new episodes again.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 31, 2025 4:27 AM |
I'm good with it as is, r13.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 31, 2025 4:31 AM |
Those mango-colored palazzo pants that made my butt look big.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 31, 2025 4:52 AM |
Bobby is going to be 21 working in a Japaneses German Fusion BBQ restaurant in Dallas.
Do they have basements in Texas?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 31, 2025 7:13 AM |
THAT'S MY PURSE!
I DON'T KNOW YOU!
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 31, 2025 7:29 AM |
They AGED Bobby. I love that! I swear the Simpsons could milk it for AT LEAST 10 more years if they aged those chilrun. The possibilities they could have. I would actually start watching again.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 31, 2025 10:23 AM |
Keep the Simpsons the way they are, they are not supposed to be real people like King of the Hill. Besides there have been many episodes of the Simpsons when Bart and Lisa and even the bully are adults through futuristic timelines, dream scenes etc.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 31, 2025 10:49 AM |
[quote]Do they have basements in Texas?
Not at the Alamo.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 31, 2025 12:55 PM |
This looks great. King of the Hill didn't have the same impact The Simpsons or even Family Guy did because it had a slower pace and less of an emphasis on being wacky. Bobby as an adult should be interesting.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 31, 2025 7:10 PM |
What I don't understand is why they sent Hank and Peggy to Saudi Arabia just for Hank to sell propane and propane accesories there then return them to Arlen. Seems extraneous but I guess it adds to Peggy's character.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 31, 2025 8:08 PM |
[QUOTE] Keep the Simpsons the way they are
Fine, and I’ll continue not watching it.
[QUOTE] they are not supposed to be real people like King of the Hill.
So what? Maybe that’s apart of the problem. And all of these other cartoon shows with “real people” don’t let the characters age, either. Unless I’m missing something, this is the very first time we’ve ever seen it. KOTH finally broke the ground and hopefully more shows will follow.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 31, 2025 8:10 PM |
[quote]KOTH finally broke the ground and hopefully more shows will follow.
The Simpsons is doing fine without you, r23. King of the Hill didn't have a gradual ageing of the characters. It's been off for 15 years. They can get away with it.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 31, 2025 8:18 PM |
Simpsons floating timeline is weird now. Homer pretty much grew up in the 90s for the current era so in flashback he's essentially got Bart's childhood.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 31, 2025 8:21 PM |
Who is "Connie"?
(I stopped watching the show several years before it ended...)
by Anonymous | reply 27 | June 1, 2025 3:17 PM |
R27 Connie Souphanousinphone, Bobby’s on/off girlfriend
by Anonymous | reply 28 | June 1, 2025 3:27 PM |
[quote]I hope Connie reappears
She's back, as are her parents and Chane Wassanasong.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | June 1, 2025 3:43 PM |
What about that guy no one can understand
by Anonymous | reply 30 | June 1, 2025 4:14 PM |
Can't wait. Mike Judge is an underrated genius. I've always had a crush
by Anonymous | reply 31 | June 1, 2025 4:23 PM |
Who, R30? Boomhauer?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | June 1, 2025 4:57 PM |
There are rumors that keep getting yanked from the King of the Hill subreddit that Jonathan Joss, who voices John Redcorn and had a public meltdown recently at a KOTH event, was fatally shot by a neighbor earlier tonight. Here's one of the deleted threads. Local news has since confirmed a deadly shooting on the block where he lives but they haven't yet identified the victim.
Joss has been in the grips of a mental crisis for some time now and a recent fire that destroyed his childhood home and killed several of his dogs seemed to be a tipping point. If he's named as the deceased, some articles might mention a boyfriend or husband. That would refer to a younger trans guy he often shares photos of on Instagram.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | June 2, 2025 3:48 AM |
Still no official confirmation, but it doesn't sound good. Here is another active thread with updates.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | June 2, 2025 1:02 PM |
Damn. It wouldn't be shocking. The only thing surprising is that it's a neighbor and not cops who did the shooting
by Anonymous | reply 36 | June 2, 2025 2:46 PM |
It was a creepy character anyway….
by Anonymous | reply 37 | June 2, 2025 2:50 PM |
Do they really need John Redcorn?
by Anonymous | reply 38 | June 2, 2025 2:56 PM |
TMZ confirmed he was shot to death. It's usually pretty reliable about these things.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | June 2, 2025 3:15 PM |
[quote]Do they really need John Redcorn?
I certainly do!
by Anonymous | reply 40 | June 2, 2025 3:18 PM |
Is there a KOTH curse? Luann, Dale Gribble, Lucky, John Redcorn...
by Anonymous | reply 41 | June 2, 2025 3:48 PM |
And yet all the geriatrics from The Simpsons are still above ground.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | June 2, 2025 4:10 PM |
If you made their money, r42, would you be interested in leaving this mortal coil?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | June 2, 2025 4:18 PM |
[quote] And yet all the geriatrics from The Simpsons are still above ground.
**ahem**
by Anonymous | reply 44 | June 2, 2025 4:28 PM |
Somebody once said that Bobby Hill is the most complexly written child character is television history, and I agree. Although he is instantly recognizable, he transcends being a mere type. His best quality is his constant sunniness (which is undermined usually only by worry or in one hilarious episode by where he becomes suddenly woke over Thanksgiving--excuse me, "Thanks-taking"--celebrations).
by Anonymous | reply 45 | June 2, 2025 4:31 PM |
Well, don’t take his purse.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | June 2, 2025 5:16 PM |
Loved the John Redcorn character. All those supporting characters helped make King of the Hill interesting and vibrant.
It's one of my favorite animated sitcoms because it's the one most grounded in reality. I'm not from Texas but from Kansas/Nebraska and all those kinds of characters in KOTH are VERY familiar to me. Including John Redcorn.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | June 2, 2025 9:35 PM |
May Jonathan Joss Rest in Peace.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | June 2, 2025 11:34 PM |
The voice actor dude died.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | June 2, 2025 11:58 PM |
I wonder how many characters will be MAGA.
I’m sure it will be a storyline
by Anonymous | reply 50 | June 3, 2025 12:26 AM |
Mike Judge has always made it clear he never wanted to get too overtly political.
If you're expecting heavy handed Trump stuff, I don't think it's gonna happen.
Now, the show will certainly use conservative shit as part of the dynamic...they always have. It's a fairly sly satire of Texas, after all.
It's also a show where Hank had issues with W running for president because Hank had shook W's hand at a rally and W had a weak handshake which horrified Hank.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | June 3, 2025 1:12 AM |
I assume that Ladybird is no longer with us.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | June 3, 2025 2:27 AM |
When I lived in Japan, this was on TV all the time, dubbed in Japanese. They used standard Japanese (Tokyo dialect), but they should have used a regional one like Osaka or even farther west.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | June 3, 2025 2:30 AM |
[QUOTE] I assume that Ladybird is no longer with us.
Hank could’ve always gotten another dog (or two).
by Anonymous | reply 54 | June 3, 2025 12:12 PM |
[quote]Who is "Connie"?
So is she Chinese or Japanese? - Hank Hill
by Anonymous | reply 55 | June 4, 2025 2:40 AM |
They should make Peggy an IG TikTok social media whore. Based on her many fans of her big feet.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | June 4, 2025 2:43 AM |
That’s too obvious, R56,
by Anonymous | reply 57 | June 4, 2025 11:16 AM |
Doesn't mean he's MAGAt, it may be he might be a little left of center. Tiny bit.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | June 20, 2025 2:56 PM |
Hank probably wouldn't care for Donnie Two Scoops because he's from New York.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | June 20, 2025 3:40 PM |
Nobody but Bill would be dumb enough to support Trump.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | June 20, 2025 3:42 PM |
Dale would be full Qanon
by Anonymous | reply 62 | June 20, 2025 3:55 PM |
[QUOTE] Doesn't mean he's MAGAt, it may be he might be a little left of center. Tiny bit.
Come on. You think Hank Rutherford Hill is a Democrat now? You think Hank has a “Don’t Blame Me I Voted for Kamala” bumper sticker on his pickup truck? Trump won damn near every county in Texas for a reason.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | June 20, 2025 4:19 PM |
Did you not see "tiny bit", it doesn't mean he's a Democrat- according to r58's post, he was in the middle.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | June 20, 2025 4:28 PM |
Wasn't there talk that they were going to make Bobby gay in the return?
by Anonymous | reply 65 | June 21, 2025 3:04 AM |
The boy ain’t right
by Anonymous | reply 66 | June 21, 2025 4:02 AM |
They live in Texas, Hank would totally be MAGA. My guess is they might use that to show how out of touch or ridiculous it is. Sort of like Archie Bunker was in All in the Family. Witch explored racial topics and even Archie unknowingly giving mouth to mouth to a drag queen.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | June 21, 2025 6:47 AM |
It’s the only realistic option, R67.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | June 21, 2025 3:45 PM |
Hank will think no one has common sense anymore.
Bill is MAGA
Dale is just conspiracies and doesn't trust either side.
Boomhauer is apolitical
Peggy thinks she knows policies and tries to talk, but ends up blaming Africa and India for taking those good Enron jobs away
Luanne doesn't like politics but ends up dating some really really liberal guy that pisses Hank off.
Kahn voted Democrat because "Hank Hill. Trump is a hillbilly- like you!"
John Redcorn is a Democrat and Nancy votes Democrat because of John Redcorn
by Anonymous | reply 69 | July 3, 2025 8:44 PM |
I don’t think they can get away with Kahn anymore.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | July 3, 2025 8:47 PM |
R70 what a shame, he was my favorite
by Anonymous | reply 71 | July 3, 2025 8:49 PM |
No I’m wrong, he’s there. I was probably thinking of Apu.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | July 3, 2025 8:51 PM |
"I try to not let the show get too political. To me, it's more social than political I guess you'd say, because that's funnier. I don't really like political reference humor that much. Although I liked the episode 'Hank's Bully' where Hank's talking to the mailman and he says, 'Why would anyone want to lick a stamp that has Bill Clinton on it?' To me that's just like more of a character thing about Hank than it is a political joke or anything. I don't want to do a bunch of stuff about the war, particularly."
- Mike Judge
So I doubt it will be too political
by Anonymous | reply 73 | July 3, 2025 8:58 PM |
Of course we’re not expecting the series to suddenly get real political. But the show runner is the one who came out warning us about Hank no longer being in the middle. Why would he do that unless something occurs that demonstrates Hank is a MAGAT?
by Anonymous | reply 74 | July 4, 2025 12:18 AM |
Hank is usually pretty reasonable, within his context.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | July 4, 2025 12:26 AM |
He’s not going to try to deport Joseph. Peggy isn’t going to be a substitute ICE agent.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | July 4, 2025 12:27 AM |
Hmm…the series is set in Garland, a Dallas suburb.
Judge does an brilliant job documenting the weird redneck/immigrant dynamic there.
That said, I lost interest years ago…maybe because it hits too close to home.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | July 4, 2025 1:12 AM |
[quote]Hmm…the series is set in Garland, a Dallas suburb.
ARLEN.
And it's not a Dallas suburb.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | July 4, 2025 1:22 AM |
R79 It’s Arlen but if your ass knew a goddamned this about the series, Judge said it was a conglomeration of Garland and Richardson.
You are not only stupid, you lack basic comprehension skills.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | July 4, 2025 1:26 AM |
I trust Wikipedia over you, R79.
[quote]Though Arlen is inspired by various Texas suburban communities, its specific location in Texas is never specified in the series. Similar to the location of Springfield on The Simpsons, the location of Arlen within Texas is arbitrarily based on the needs of a particular episode's plot, and multiple episodes give conflicting information as to Arlen's geographic location within the state. For example, one episode indicates that it is just north of the Brazos River in central Texas.[4] Other episodes place it near Houston or Dallas, while others feature trips to Mexico and back taking place within a matter of hours. In the episode "Harlottown", the location is revealed to be somewhere on the Chisholm Trail. In all cases, the general location for Arlen coincides with the eastern half of the state as opposed to the western half, the latter being predominantly desert.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | July 4, 2025 2:38 AM |
Remember, Hank isn't a true Texan; he was born in New York.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | July 4, 2025 2:42 AM |
Wasn't Peggy born in Toronto? I think I read that here on DL. Or maybe they said she was Toronto.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | July 4, 2025 2:45 AM |
[quote]I don’t think they can get away with Kahn anymore.
Hank: So are you Chinese or Japanese?
Kahn: I am Laotian, it's a whole other country.
Hank: So are you Chinese or Japanese?
by Anonymous | reply 83 | July 4, 2025 12:08 PM |
Arlen is definitely not based on Dallas. Hank canonically hates Dallas.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | July 4, 2025 12:20 PM |
I wonder how SpaceX would factor into this? Hank losing a lot of business because no one cares about propane anymore? You just know at least one of those characters is going to show up in a Cyber Truck. Dale perhaps.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | July 4, 2025 12:25 PM |
Peggy looks great! If she’s had work done, it’s very, very good.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | July 4, 2025 12:33 PM |
Hank is retired, R85.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | July 4, 2025 2:41 PM |
Finally, some justification for my Hulu subscription.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | July 10, 2025 4:35 PM |
Oh how I missed Mike Judge's humor.

Why can't they age? It's a cartoon.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | July 10, 2025 6:52 PM |
Nothing will beat the critically acclaimed new Beavis and Butt-Head reboot. It’s the one animated reboot that got it right. A friend of mine worked on this new KOTH reboot and he said reactions were mixed. It’s way more toned down and Hank is MAGA.
by Anonymous | reply 93 | July 10, 2025 6:57 PM |
That’s true, old Beavis and Butthead (and they are not always old in the reboot, just sometimes) is good stuff.
by Anonymous | reply 94 | July 10, 2025 7:00 PM |
How is Hank retired but Bobby is only 21. Are they aging at different rates?
by Anonymous | reply 95 | July 10, 2025 7:10 PM |
The kid grew up, meanwhile the parents are retired but they look the same age.
by Anonymous | reply 96 | July 10, 2025 7:14 PM |
(...as they always did.)
by Anonymous | reply 97 | July 10, 2025 7:15 PM |
The clips they've released haven't wowed me but...we'll see how it plays out. I'm just worried it could suck as much as the Hulu reboot of Futurama which was quite bad.
by Anonymous | reply 99 | July 10, 2025 7:46 PM |
King of the Hill never had much of a wow factor. I wouldn’t expect the reboot to be any different.
by Anonymous | reply 100 | July 10, 2025 9:18 PM |
I agree the Beavis and Butthead reboot was amazing
by Anonymous | reply 101 | July 11, 2025 12:24 AM |
The trailer looks great. Hank giving the driver four stars instead of five is perfect. Peggy making being a 5 a point of pride is exactly what you would expect of her, as is her pronouncing "vegan" wrong.
