HOW DARE SHE!!!! HOW DARE SHE!!! According to Showbiz411’s Roger Friedman, Frances McDormand is attached to play Patti LuPone in an upcoming biopic of the Broadway legend. No word yet on a director or which studio is backing this — assuming there even is one yet.
LuPone, of course, is a three-time Tony winner, but it’s hard to say how much mainstream interest there is in a full-blown biopic. That said, McDormand doesn’t sign onto just anything. If this thing ever gets off the ground, it might be worth keeping an eye on — if only to see McDormand go full diva.
McDormand hasn’t been on-screen much since 2021’s The Tragedy of Macbeth, directed by Joel Coen. She’s a six-time Oscar nominee and three-time winner — “Fargo,” “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri,” and “Nomadland.”
