Kit Connor to lead “Elden Ring”

He's done legitimate theatre in the US since Heartstopper, yes? This is how the Brits get in, get a good rep.

He played Romeo in the Broadway production of Romeo and Juliet last fall.

It will be interesting to see if this plays out for him. Glad to see his career is more ving forward and leaving the Heartstopper fanbase behind.

But, the night of the Black Knives could be incredible.

A live action Malenia, Blade of Miquella, and Water Fowl Dance would be cool. Extra points if they cameo Let Me Solo Her.

But can Kit Conner open a movie like David Corenswet can?

Is this film going to be about the tarnished of no renown? It would be odd. I don’t think it would be impossible, but I think quite difficult to tack a coherent plot on top that audiences will follow. Gideon or Ranni would need to be a lot more involved to move the plot forward. Makes more sense to do a film about the shattering itself.

And if the film doesn’t have Boc, I’m boycotting it.

R9 Do you think they would retcon everyone to be roughly human sized? And Radahn just a realistically huge human, like the mountain. I just don’t see how they can do this without watering down the visuals so much. It would need more CGI than Marvel.

I can see it being about the shattering. However, I can't imagine a role for which they'd even be considering Kit Connor if that were the case.

I think the problem is that what people love about Elden Ring is the obscure lore which had to be pieced together. The story is also a lot more dark than heroic. There isn't really a "hero" other than the Tarnished.

I think it become more like a Marvel movie where some folks are larger than life.

R10 Actors don't open movies anymore, IP does. Superman is doing well because it's Superman. Elden Ring will do well because it's Elden Ring. R7 R14 Oh, bitter Joe Locke stan. You need to worry about his little play that nobody gives a crap about pulling a meager 1,600 followers on social media. Joe is uncharismatic and no one is casting him for movies in the first place.

Whatever they end up doing with the plot, at least it’s guaranteed to be well-acted.

R15 Ranni, Boc, Goldmask, Blaidd, are all arguably heroic (at least in some cases before going mad)- and I’m surely forgetting some. Gideon’s daughter who ends up taking over Stormveil? What about the blacksmith and the summon enhancing lady? There are plenty of good natured characters.

It should be about Vyke, losing his maiden and going mad after rejecting the frenzied flame imo

r18 - there are plenty of good, or at least chaotic good, characters.

However, that's different from actually being a hero or heroic.

R16 No one cares about your stan war. You’re wrong. Superman is doing well because the promo is impeccable and the actors are compelling and charismatic. DC has been in the gutter for years. The Superman IP doesn’t hold much value in the current market. And talking about Joe, his play announcement had better engagement than this R17.
