Police BodyCam Videos
I've been laid up with the flu for the past week and have gone down the YouTube rabbit hole watching police bodycam videos, everything from DUI arrests to drunks getting kicked out of bars to ex-girlfriends stalking their ex-boyfriends. Most of the videos are hilarious (and most take place in Floriduh, of course), and I love how all the people who get arrested inevitably shriek, "I didn't do anything!" as the handcuffs are placed on them. It's also fun watching deadbeats without a dime scream, "I'm calling my attorney," as if these WalMart rejects have a lawyer on retainer.
Anybody else get oddly entertained by these?

I've been dragged down this rabbit hole, too, OP.
I don't like seeing obviously mentally ill people. Plus there was a woman who was shoplifting with her obviously distressed toddler in tow, which was just sad.
Now I stick to drunks at airports or Palm Beach booze hounds. They're great fun!

R1 Yeah, the crazy people and the people with kids aren't much fun, but I do love the airport drunks and the teen girls who turn on the waterworks when they realize they're getting a DUI.

The drunk girl on her scooter in Key West is my favorite in this compilation (33:38).

I used to be a fan, had to stop watching, the videos made me feel even more hopeless about the human race.

I saw a video a few years ago of a cop sitting in his car in a remote area and he forgot to turn his camera off when he beat his meat on the side of the road. It was hot!

Your life must be pretty shitty if you're entertained by videos of impoverished drunks and drug addicts getting arrested, OP.

R6 Not nearly as shitty as the life of someone who specifically comes to a thread like this to stick her nose in the air and sanctimoniously sniff her own farts.

OP I was once a criminal defense attorney and had to watch those videos all the time. You are right about how they all proclaim innocence as the cuffs are locking, and they all claim that they have a lawyer as if the police are afraid of lawyers. My favorite is when they claim that their rights as a citizen are being violated. Those videos always give you insight into who your client really is. I also loved when they would sit in the police car- without anyone else- and talk to themselves.
And for those of you who get upset when children are in the video; children are always somewhere near a crime( in the house, in the car, watching from the street).

Officer during DUI stop: "Have you had anything to drink tonight?"
Driver: "No, sir."
Officer: "Where are you coming from?"
Driver: "Um...from...the...my...cousin's house who's dying of cancer and I'm just really upset."

Sorry you're an impoverished drunk who got a string of DUIs, R6.

I would love to know the legality behind them. Does the arrestee have to give written consent? And why would anyone consent to the humiliating exposure, preserved into perpetuity on the internets?

R11 That's a good question for R8.

Some are funny but most are sad . I dont enjoy other peoples misery (except trumpers) .

R13 Speaking of Trumpers, I saw one bodycam video of a drunk mother and daughter getting kicked out of a fancy hotel in Palm Beach. The police kept trying to get them to leave teh premises, but their drunken asses wouldn't, so when the cops put the cuffs on them, they started screaming that it was because they were Trump supporters.
Fucking idiots.

I’ve done it too, OP. I really don’t enjoy the ones of people who are struggling with mental issues (those are pretty easy to determine), but the self-righteous drunks are always worth a laugh or two.

I'm amazed by the infinite patience some of these cops show in these videos.
I was watching one where a restaurant called the cops to have a drunk woman removed from the premises. A male and female cop showed up and nicely tried for 30 minutes to get the woman to leave the parking lot, putting up with her drunk rambling and rage and nonsense. They FINALLY cuffed her and carted her off to the drunk tank, but if I had been that cop, I'd have given her about two minutes before I said, "Okay. We're done."
