Actor gives to Chicago arts and abuse victim organizations after charge for staging 2019 attack, which he has denied

Where did he get the $50,000? He hasn’t worked in years, has he?

2019?! I don't care anymore. Can we move on?!

R2 = Jussie

I find it interesting how he tried to reinvent himself as spiritual and moral instead of taking accountability. Since the hoax his Instagram has been all about activism as part of his redemption arc.

Sherri Papini, the woman that disappeared with a former boyfriend, but claimed to have been abducted by 2 Hispanic women, actually had to serve time in prison for her lies. She came clean and admitted what she had done (unlike Jussie who only doubles down on his lies).

Jussie is too big a narcissist EVER to admit he did any wrongdoing. The justice system is probably glad to be rid of him so they don't have to give her more special protection. And in the meantime his career is over.

Justice for me.

I just looked up Sherri Papini. She was sentenced to 18 months in prison followed by 36 months of supervised housing (she is now in a half-way house). She also has to pay over $300,000 in restitution for waste of law enforcement time. I guess Jussie's big dick trumps Sherri's blond hair.

R8 She wasted way more taxpayer money because they were actually looking for her for weeks.
Of course Jussie wasted money and resources as well but not on the scale of Papini.

That’s why I say drugs ruin people. I’ve never heard of him being an addict but he had to be on some substance. I just will never understand how he thought this scam would never come to light.
Even outside the logistics of the sham being successful in its current time and place. Did it ever cross his mind that he would have to pay the African brothers for decades so that they don’t ever reveal the truth.

I love the AI synopsis when you google "Sherri Papini vs Jussie Smollett".
Nature of False Claim: Papini fabricated a kidnapping, while Smollett fabricated a hate crime.
Motivations: Papini's motivation appears to have been to conceal an affair, while Smollett's motivation was allegedly to gain publicity.
Legal Outcomes: Papini pleaded guilty and served time in prison, while Smollett's conviction was overturned, and he avoided further legal penalties through the settlement.
Key Differences:
Nature of Claims: Papini claimed a kidnapping, while Smollett claimed a hate crime.
Motivation: While both fabricated their claims, their underlying motivations may have differed. Papini's initial fabrication was to conceal an affair, while Smollett's was allegedly for publicity.
Legal Outcomes: Both faced legal consequences for their hoaxes, but Smollett's conviction was ultimately overturned, while Papini served prison time.

Jussie, I'll always cut fresh flowers for you
And Jussie, I'll always keep the wine cold for you
Put on cologne and wait by the phone for you....
Oh yeah, Jussie !

R9 I would argue that Jussie attempted to do more damage with his false statements. Especially given that he had some degree of fame and received far more public attention. He was intent on making some white Trump supporters appear to have made a very public racist and homophobic attack on a celebrity. How anyone ever believed his story is beyond me. Not that I don't think Trump supporters are capable of racist and homophobic attacks but the idea that he is well known enough to that demographic to have been recognized at 2am on a nightmarishly frigid Chicago night. I said "fake crime" from the first moment I heard that bizarre story.
