On Sunday, Skarsgård, who was attending a premiere of Wes Anderson’s latest film “The Phoenician Scheme,” arrived onto La Croisette in a jaw-dropping pair of thigh-high boots. Styled by Harry Lambert, the square-toe creations were straight off Saint Laurent’s Fall-Winter 2025 runway and engulfed the actor’s entire leg, only finishing where one might imagine his boxer shorts to begin. It was half-dominatrix, half-fishing wader, and wholly surprising.
Alexander Skarsgård flips the script on thigh-high leather boots

Look of the Week at the Cannes Film Festival
The sky-high leather boots were designed by Saint Laurent.

Harry Lambert has been the stylist of Harry Styles for the last ten years.

He looks like an absolute fool. Why wear a suit when your boots go that high up? Those are the kind of boots you wear when wading through a Florida swamp, not a red carpet event. Modern celebrities can't pull off camp they just look completely ridiculous.

He's so hot.

Alexander Skarsgård moved back to Sweden in 2022. His current partner with whom he has a son is Swedish actress and director, Tuva Novotny-Hedström.

CNN getting it wrong as usual - as if he’d be wearing boxers under that outfit! He’d either be rocking a jockstrap or going commando.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 21, 2025 10:27 AM |
Nice, mate, but shoulda worn a kilt.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 21, 2025 10:31 AM |
I'd like to see him naked, except for those boots. His floppy cock brushing the tops.

Did he break up with Kenneth the page? :(

I wonder if Stellan Skarsgård is homophobic? And maybe that's the reason? Or Alex is clinging to his sex symbol status because that's where the money is? Either way he's definitely living a lie.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 21, 2025 11:24 AM |
Or maybe he’s not gay. The internalized homophobia in some of you is pitiable.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 21, 2025 3:34 PM |
He's slowly going the way of the now insufferable and ridiculous Walton Goggins.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 21, 2025 3:45 PM |
I think the boots look great on him. And it’s nice to see something fun and different on a man that works and that is not a gown or something gender-bender silly. If Alex was bearding his relationship would be much more public. But it’s not. Some men (and they are usually European) are so comfortable with their sexuality that it leaves even American gays disquieted. I think he’s definitely one of them.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 21, 2025 4:09 PM |
I don't see this look catching on like wildfire.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 21, 2025 4:13 PM |
R21, you won’t see it everywhere. But it has quietly expanded what men can do when it comes to styling themselves. These boots are the equivalent of the giant Vivian Westwood hat Pharrell wore. Not for everyone but cool all the same.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 21, 2025 4:17 PM |
He looks like he needs a refresher on his face. The boots don't look bad, though.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 21, 2025 4:17 PM |
I have an Alexander Skarsgård fetish and I have a boot fetish but those boots look horrible on him or on anyone. Something like this would have looked better.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 21, 2025 5:44 PM |
Flip it back
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 21, 2025 6:39 PM |
Geez, I thought James Corden was insufferable (which he is), but Pascal, Goggins, and now Skarsgård, are all major contenders for the Douche of the Year award.

I wore mine to the office today. I got reprimanded by HR because it was not dress down Friday. They clearly have no clue about contemporary style in the 21st century.

Here's Alexander on the Kelly Ripa show, wearing a bizarre green outfit.
The guy has horrible taste in clothing.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 22, 2025 11:34 AM |
It's not Alexander's personal taste, it's that of his insane new stylist Harry Lambert. He styled Harry Styles like this:

Not surprising.
He strikes me as a total bottom.
Swedes are notoriously weird about declaring their sexuality.
Alex is probably totally gay, but will never come out.
If anything, the most he would say about it is that he is "sexually fluid."
Yeah, whatever.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 22, 2025 12:02 PM |
He looks like he's going fly-fishing.
His gay energy is very low-level. He may be asexual.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 22, 2025 12:07 PM |
My friend said he had a big dick and bottomed. Came like a garden hose. It was only a one night hookup, never saw him again. This was before he was famous, he was going to college in NY (can't remember the college). Years later when AS was on tv, my friend recognized him as "that Swedish guy he hooked up with."

These celeb men need to understand that a classic suit/tux/shoes is always the best way to go.
They don't look dated at all.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | May 22, 2025 12:13 PM |
If you're going to wear thigh-high leather boots, then the top needs to be equally edgy.
I think it looks dumb to be so daring on the bottom half, and then conservative on the top half.
Go all the way, or don't go at all.
I think that the thigh-high boots would have been magnificent with the top half of what Harry Styles is wearing at R31.
Now THAT would have been a show stopper.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 22, 2025 12:16 PM |
The boots look better on Pedro because you can imagine him being a big ol leather daddy.

Or maybe you got triggered over a conversation that had nothing to do with you, Mary. That's your problem. It's very foolish to try and psychoanalyze anonymous posters gossiping on a message board. The sign on the door says "Pointless Bitchery" so get over yourself.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 22, 2025 12:33 PM |
I didn't think those boots would work on [italic]any[/italic] man until I saw Pedro.
But they sure as fuck don't work on AS
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 22, 2025 12:46 PM |
He looks dumb.
The seams on top of the boots are ugly.
This stylist seems to get off on humiliating his clients.
Still, seems better off than E. Page.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 22, 2025 12:47 PM |
Harry Styles won't wear the really ludicrous outfits Harry Lambert suggests but others do. The stylist dressed Emma Corrin in a dress that was made out of a plastic bag and had a huge goldfish on!

R35, from his Wikipedia page, where he went to college in NY:
In 1997, he enrolled in a theatre course at Marymount Manhattan College and moved to New York City. He returned to Stockholm after six months, but his time studying theatre confirmed to him that he wanted to act.

These boots are made for... the men of Hollywood.
Following recent sightings of Pedro Pascal and Alexander Skarsgård in the Saint Laurent Joe Over-the-Knee leather boots, it seems only natural that Brad Pitt take them for a spin.
