Trump has wiped Elon Musk’s name from Truth Social as GOP insiders admit he’s ‘finished, done, gone’

Donald Trump has stopped mentioning Elon Musk on Truth Social as the administration takes a significant step back from the tech billionaire.

Trump was posting about Musk an average of four times per week in February and March on Truth Social as Musk and DOGE led the firing of employees and shuttering of federal departments, but the president hasn’t mentioned him once since the start of April, according to an analysis by Politico.

Equally, until early April, Musk posted about the president on his X account almost every day but posts where Trump is mentioned have since tailed off.

Yes, the love affair is over. Musk has also said in an interview that he’s stopping contributing millions to politics.

Both douchebags seem disillusioned with each other.
Yes, the love affair is over. Musk has also said in an interview that he’s stopping contributing millions to politics.

Musk thought he was untouchable, being the richest person in the world.

He learned his lesson very quickly, after what happened with Tesla.

Fuck him. I won't be satisfied until he is broke and completely destroyed.

by Anonymousreply 5May 21, 2025 2:43 AM

I'm sure Trump will be donating some of Elon's campaign money to his favorite charity.

by Anonymousreply 6May 21, 2025 2:47 AM

He did his smash and grab and is riding off into the sunset. Hope the ketamine destroys his kidneys tho

by Anonymousreply 7May 21, 2025 2:47 AM

I think the Tesla attacks really spooked Elon. He thought being a DC player was all balloons, applause and confetti.

by Anonymousreply 11May 21, 2025 2:56 AM

Have you seen the latest video of Musk? He gave an interview in the past day or two. He's all hurt and sulking. He tore up every government agency he could. And now he's on the verge of tears. Musk has such thin skin. His feelings are all hurt because people hate what he did and now hate him.

Boo-fucking-hoo.

by Anonymousreply 12May 21, 2025 2:58 AM
Trump World Is Slamming the Door on Elon Musk: ‘People Hate Him’

After more than two months of hyping Elon Musk and his work at the Department of Government Efficiency, President Donald Trump and his supporters have gone awfully quiet on the world’s richest man.

While Musk was once a fixture at the White House and featured heavily in the president’s social media posts and fundraising emails, the Tesla CEO has hardly been mentioned since early April, Politico reported.

He now barely gets mentioned in White House briefings, and members of Congress have also stopped talking about him, the outlet found.

The Truth Social blackout started the same day Musk suffered a humiliating loss in the Wisconsin state Supreme Court race, with his preferred candidate Brad Schimel losing by 10 points despite Musk pouring a record $21 million into a normally low-profile and non-partisan judicial race.

Despite his high-profile antics—including handing out $1 million checks to voters and wearing a cheesehead hat at a rally—liberal appellate Judge Susan Crawford prevailed.

Two days later, Marquette University Law School released a poll that found 58 percent of respondents disapproved of how Musk was handling his secretive cost-cutting task force under DOGE. An even higher percentage—60 percent—disapproved of Musk personally.

“He’s finished, done, gone. He polls terrible. People hate him,” an anonymous GOP operative told Politico. “He’d go to Wisconsin thinking he can buy people’s votes, wear the cheese hat, act like a 9-year-old. ... It doesn’t work. It’s offensive to people.”

Other factors—including other administration policies such as tariffs drawing some of the attention away from DOGE, and Musk himself taking a step back—could also help explain why Musk has faded into the background.

Tesla’s profits plummet by 71 percent during the first quarter of 2025, forcing Musk to promise the company’s investors he would limit his work at DOGE to one or two days per week starting in May.

In the meantime, it has become clear that DOGE isn’t likely to find anywhere near the $2 trillion in savings that Musk originally promised. The task force claims to have generated about $170 billion in savings, but even that is likely to be offset by lost revenue after DOGE cut key positions such as IRS auditors who fight high-income tax evaders, according to Lawfare.

Republicans have stopped touting the savings, though they’re still staying on Musk’s good side in the hopes that he will continue using his massive fortune and social media platform to support their campaigns, Politico reported.

"Can those people get their jobs back?"

The Project 2025 plot was to eventually replace them with MAGAts.

by Anonymousreply 27May 21, 2025 7:24 AM

Their incompetence leaves the tears running, from laughing at this point. They're an army of incompetents.

by Anonymousreply 28May 21, 2025 7:45 AM

Trump had probably be careful. If Musk helped him win by manipulating computer vote totals, he knows where one of Trump's bodies is buried and could hold him hostage with that information.

by Anonymousreply 29May 21, 2025 7:51 AM

This is called a Ketamine crash

by Anonymousreply 30May 21, 2025 7:53 AM

Part of me remains skeptical, but that's probably because Trump is such a liar. Maybe there's more to this than meets the eye. That said, I'm glad to see Musk gone. If he is, in fact, on his way out.

by Anonymousreply 31May 21, 2025 7:58 AM

How long will all those racist Afrikaner "refugees" sponsored by Musk be allowed to stay?

by Anonymousreply 32May 21, 2025 11:34 AM

Remember how Elmo was living at Maralago for months before he followed Donald back to the White House, making sure he had constant contact with him? There was a good reason for that and it's called Alzheimers. Beta-amyloids have now taken over the spot in Donald's brain where memories of Elmo were stored.

by Anonymousreply 33May 21, 2025 11:39 AM

I seem to recall that Trump stressed weeks ago that the guy was not going to be around when his title expired in May. If they were truly on the outs, why the South African refugee stuff now though?

by Anonymousreply 34May 21, 2025 12:19 PM

So what?

The damage has been done.

Trump is NEVER finished with anyone who's been useful to him. And Musk can buy him again anytime.

by Anonymousreply 35May 21, 2025 12:27 PM

Musk can't buy him again. He's been tossed on the discarded [bold]LOSER![/bold] pile for affecting Trump's cherished approval number.

by Anonymousreply 36May 21, 2025 12:33 PM

The only number it is interested in involves money. Because maga can't use it for money, it is to be discarded.

by Anonymousreply 38May 21, 2025 1:04 PM

by Anonymousreply 48May 29, 2025 12:28 PM

Pointless for Musk to leave if he doesn't take all of the DODGE "staffers" (Takis-powder encrusted unpaid interns), who have spread like maggots throughout the rotting Body Politic, with him.

by Anonymousreply 49May 29, 2025 12:36 PM

And he took Stephen Miller's wife with him!

Katie Miller, a top adviser and spokesperson for the Department of Government Efficiency at the White House, has left her position and is now working with Elon Musk, according to three sources familiar with the matter.

Miller is working “full time” for Musk, one of the sources said. Another said she has been helping arrange Musk’s interviews that are unrelated to his time in government. This week Musk has given interviews to the Washington Post, CBS News and Ars Technica connected to SpaceX’s Starship launch.

Like several other White House advisers including Musk himself, Miller was a “Special Government Employee” which allows private sector figures to simultaneously work for the federal government but with restrictions on how many days per year can be spent on government work although that time can be extended.

Miller, who is married to Deputy White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, did not respond to a request for comment sent to her White House email, which still appears to be functioning. A separate White House spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

How long will it be before these little fuckers start marketing everyone's SSNs illegally like they're bags of Skiddles.

by Anonymousreply 61May 29, 2025 4:38 PM

It’s probably already happening, r61.

Tbh, in my “conspiracy thinking”, they’ve scraped all of our individual data and will start trying to cross reference it to voting rolls.

They’ll find out who you voted for, when you vote, how you vote and then target you for removal from the voting rolls by coordinating with red state governments. All in the name of “voter integrity”.

Look for them to start this bullshit next summer. Late enough so when they’re sued, they can tie it up in court and still steal the midterms through this tactic.

Next, they will start targeting those who need assistance voting - blind people, those who aren’t physically mobile, old people in nursing homes or assisted living who vote by mail, people who have trouble reading. They will target them next for suppression.

They plan to slowly, yet systematically root out any non maggot by using this data and cross referencing it with other data that Muskcunt will buy - legally or illegally.

by Anonymousreply 62May 29, 2025 4:58 PM

I think you're absolutely right, R62, that is the plan.

by Anonymousreply 63May 29, 2025 5:11 PM

by Anonymousreply 64May 29, 2025 5:21 PM

by Anonymousreply 72May 29, 2025 7:31 PM

Muskmelon has learned to his chagrin that the uncritical adoration he receives from his cultists is not shared by the general public, and that giving the Hitler salute in front of a crowd doesn't magically transform you into an actual Hitler. Time to wall himself up in his Texas compound and go full on Howard Hughes.

by Anonymousreply 73May 29, 2025 7:48 PM

"Time to wall himself up in his Texas compound and go full on Howard Hughes."

Time to get back to running the car company he conned millions of us saps to invest in. WTF. He thinks a multi-billion dollar high tech company can run on auto pilot indefinitely?

by Anonymousreply 74May 29, 2025 8:05 PM

This was inevitable but it will be interesting to see how it plays out. Musk got what he wanted: A huge priceless database of personal information on most Americans that will fuel his AI business and millions in government contracts. Of course, on he's terminally toxic and will continue to be hated and reviled and a drag on any public company he runs.

Musk got Dump elected. He probably did some creative things to make that happen. It will be interesting to watch this war. They both can deliver fatal blows to the other and neither has enough self control to keep quiet
