Do you believe in UFOs?

I do but do not think we have ever experienced anything more than a close encounter of the first kind: sighting.

They are hoarding all of the good technology.

I do still wonder about Betty and Barney Hill’s experience.

The [Bold]Fermi paradox[/Bold] is the discrepancy between the lack of conclusive evidence of advanced extraterrestrial life and the apparently high likelihood of its existence. Those affirming the paradox generally conclude that if the conditions required for life to arise from non-living matter are as permissive as the available evidence on Earth indicates, then extraterrestrial life would be sufficiently common such that it would be implausible for it not to have been detected.

This is what I believe. I suppose there is the possibility that there is intelligent life elsewhere but they, like we, are stymied by space travel or, went extinct before they could become known to other civilizations or develop into a spacefaring race.

I have this theory-while-high that the UFOs were here and gone already. Too many of the myths and folklore and religious tales of the ancient past have similarities. Our own bible is a ollection of myths and folklore. But as I look at the pyramids and the ancient Egyptian "gods" with their odd animal heads and human bodies, and I read Greek mythology about how Zeus would come down and mate with some young girl, or any number of other stories from other cultures in other times, I am convinced they were here, they dropped us off and the ancients were communicating with them for a while and then they left and we're still waiting for their return.

Given the number of stars in our galaxy alone, it is foolish to believe that life didn't develop on thousands of worlds if not millions.

As R4 mentions though, we are all bound by physics. Communication between worlds is highly unlikely and travel almost certainly impossible.

Kind of depressing but there it is.

I don't have an opinion on whether extraterrestrial life is zipping around in vehicles above our heads.

I'm too pre-occupied with amazement that life on Earth exists.

After all, Earth is just moist and dusty quark on a quark in the vast Universe of Time, Space and Matter.

Here's the thing. "Life" on other planets in other solar systems is definitely possible, but the conditions necessary to sustain that life, alien life forms, may be entirely different than what we think is necessary to sustain life.

Speaking of traveling at the speed of light, I think it’s funny to think that if Jesus had been traveling at the speed of light during his ascension to heaven, he wouldn’t have even left our galaxy yet.

OP, UFO does not mean aliens. It simply means that you can’t identify something. UFOs exist. It doesn’t mean creatures from outer space.

I laughed so hard at this.

We have not been visited by aliens not only because of the vast distances making it more difficult, but the vastness of time making it impossible.

The genus Homo, that’s to say, intelligent life, have only been on Earth for a tiny fraction of it’s existence, and from all available evidence, we’re quickly on our way to extinction because we’re making it uninhabitable. If we set the Earth aboil, it will be the sixth or seventh time that a mass extinction event has happened here.

All of this is to say, yes, there is almost certainly intelligent life elsewhere. Yes, they may have tried to travel or signal to others they were there. But no, because of the vastness of geological time scales and the apparent shortness of species existence, there is probably no one else out there close enough to matter when your intellect life form happens to exist.

It’s clear that there is other intelligent life and that we’re not alone. As to where it originates from I don’t know. We may have been sharing this planet all along.

Maybe aliens use their physicists for better stuff than we do, and can reach us!

I kind of think I saw one as a kid. But I also have trouble believing intelligent alien life has been visiting this planet at least for decades and have done nothing other than fly around and sexually assault rednecks. So somewhere in-between belief and scepticism I guess.

If UFOs / UAPs aren't aliens, which government has the technology but is only testing it and not using it? Why have high-level officials stated we have recovered craft with aliens?

Sure, why not? I say the same about God. I'm open to possibilities.

I believe in an intelligent aliens, but I'm not sure they've ever visited us. I think a species that's capable of interstellar travel would be able to observe humans without a pilot catching them on film.

Jacques Vallée studied UFOs more than anyone else and he believes that they are interdimensional and not extraterrestrial in origin. Here is an interview he gave in 1986. I highly recommend his books too.

Indeed - a flyover planet, en route to far more rewarding globes. On Trip Advisor, no stars, as it were.

There are, I don't know, around 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets in our universe.

I find it highly unlikely -- nigh impossible -- that not a single one of those other planets has evolved intelligent life.

Maybe aliens exist, and know about us, but they have their own version of the Star Trek's Prime Directive and don't want to reveal themselves because they're aware of what that would do to our society.

Hunny I think they came here a long time ago and dropped us off, or something that evolved into us, and then they left. Look at the ancient civilizations and look at the discoveries recently where they have to keep revising the dates of certain discoveries. For example, the Egyptians. Now they have been waiting for the Aliens to return for millenia. For what ever reason, they never did come back. Oh, maybe they did recon once in a while, but who knows, right?
