Remind me again why they hid this guy away during the campaign? What do Democrats have against spines?
Tim Walz calls ICE "Trump's Gestapo", gets Republican panties in a collective twist

Gee. Can't imagine why he was one of the biggest factors of losing.

R1 Y'all supported genocide and are cheering on fascism, but sure, Tim Walz advocating against price gouging is what held the Democrats back.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | May 19, 2025 6:08 PM |
They are Nazis and they are racists. What is so complicated about this?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | May 19, 2025 6:10 PM |
Warning: unpopular opinion ahead!
Vance exceeded my expectations debating Walz. He did well being Mr. Nice Guy while the cameras were rolling. Walz came nowhere near "owning" him.
In reality, Vance is creepy as hell, so many "issues" I don't think there is a "real" Vance.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 19, 2025 6:12 PM |
I agree. Vance was MUCH better coached than Walz. Walz comes across much better unscripted. Vance comes across horrendous unscripted.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 19, 2025 7:06 PM |
Ditto. I wish he had shown some of this "spine" when he had the most eyeballs on him at his debate.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 19, 2025 9:36 PM |
Okay, but Tim Walz is still the Webster Dictionary’s living definition of moron who fought to put tampons in boys’ bathrooms. You have him to thank for Trump. Not Kamala and not Biden.. Walz.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | May 19, 2025 10:12 PM |
R9 Wouldn’t have mattered because your girl Kamala would still go on The View to proclaim that there was no distinction between her and her enormously unpopular predecessor and shove a Cheney in the faces of Muslim voters in swing states while claiming she wanted to end the war. Nothing Walz could’ve done would’ve neutralized that level of retardation.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | May 19, 2025 10:17 PM |
Don't get me wrong, R11. I now don't believe Trump was going to be beat under any of the plausible scenarios. But that doesn't excuse Walz's woeful debate performance.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 19, 2025 10:42 PM |
It’s like all the Proud Boys on the down-low were in ICE and they’ve been set free to do as they will.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 19, 2025 11:11 PM |
R11/13: Walz didn't clinch that debate. Realizing that does not make one MAGA.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 19, 2025 11:28 PM |
That is exactly who they are emulating.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 20, 2025 12:08 AM |
Walz fell into every trap Vance set up for him. Just as Trump fell for every trap Harris set up for him.
A debate, Vance vs. Harris, would have been wild.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 20, 2025 1:02 AM |
He’s like Ted Danson continually returning in some new 2010s TV series—he’ll just never go away.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | May 20, 2025 1:21 AM |
Walz warned the VP vetting people that he was a terrible debater. So he's aware of it but seems unable to improve his performances.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | May 20, 2025 1:28 AM |

Right, OP, it's Kamala's fault. Go play the blame game somewhere else.

Agreed.

R19 Even the blue MAGA cucks of Bluesky aren't blaming Walz for the loss, but the blue MAGA cucks of DL stand alone in delusional copium, projection, and lack of self-awareness.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | May 20, 2025 3:20 AM |
I'm not sure Walz will get all that far in 2028, but I do believe the Harris campaign went into some kind of inane panic and decided to shut him down. That's the problem with the whole DNC, always looking over its shoulder terrified that anybody is saying anything real and not vetted through a thousand committees and focus groups.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 20, 2025 3:55 AM |
What exactly is a blue MAGAt?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | May 20, 2025 5:04 AM |
R23 A new term that INCELs just love to inter into eject into every conversation.

by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 20, 2025 5:13 AM |
So in other words "blue MAGA" is a made-up, nonsensical term.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 20, 2025 5:15 AM |
I thought incels were already mostly MAGAts.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | May 20, 2025 5:19 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 28 | May 20, 2025 5:31 AM |
I’ve used the term blue MAGAt to describe those who exist entirely in a blue bubble & engage in their own preposterous conspiracy thinking.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | May 20, 2025 5:42 AM |
Waltz will get as far as Joe Lieberman, another failed Veep candidate who also sought the brass ring.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | May 20, 2025 5:44 AM |
Thanks, R29, I thought that you meant a registered Dem T supporter. I was shocked by seeing people wailing "They stabbed [bold]MY JOE[/bold] in the back!" when he was finally persuaded to withdraw after the decrepit debate performance. Or folks screaming Harris was victim of racism, after Obama elected twice. That sort of stuff.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | May 20, 2025 10:51 AM |
To be clear, R31, I was responding for myself; I hadn’t previously raised the term in this thread.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | May 20, 2025 11:16 AM |
R10, he’s neither a moron nor the reason for trump, asshole
by Anonymous | reply 33 | May 20, 2025 11:45 AM |
I like Tim Walz and I think if they hadn't muffled him, he could easily have offset his weak debate performance. He has a knack for saying what people are thinking.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | May 20, 2025 2:44 PM |
he could easily have offset his weak debate performance
But that was his most important & visible stage. And he blew it.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | May 20, 2025 4:35 PM |
He admitted that he was not a good debater before he was selected. So, whose fault is it for his bad debate performance?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | May 20, 2025 4:46 PM |
He's not wrong
by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 20, 2025 4:50 PM |

Harris for picking him; Walz for being bad at his most important campaign task.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | May 20, 2025 5:00 PM |
He's absolutely right. They are the gestapo.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 20, 2025 5:20 PM |

Is that you, Gus?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 20, 2025 5:48 PM |
Since when do we pick candidates based on whether they do well on a debate stage? It's not the Tonys.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | May 20, 2025 6:00 PM |
Exactly, r44.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | May 20, 2025 6:04 PM |
Well, R44, it killed the chances of Richard Nixon, Joe Biden, and Tim.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | May 20, 2025 6:32 PM |
Which Tim was worse? Kaine or Walz?
by Anonymous | reply 47 | May 20, 2025 6:57 PM |
Kaine.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | May 20, 2025 7:26 PM |
Why blame anyone besides maggots and idiots who voted for a convicted felon, rapist and someone who stole top secret documents?
It’s not Tim or Kamala’s fault that people are stupid, lazy and don’t even give a shit about keeping their own heads above water.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | May 20, 2025 8:01 PM |
Since when do we pick candidates based on whether they do well on a debate stage? It's not the Tonys.
Nobody watches the Tonys any more do they, but many people watch Presidential debates. And do you remember what happened after Trump and Biden's debate in 2024?
It’s not Tim or Kamala’s fault that people are stupid, lazy and don’t even give a shit about keeping their own heads above water.
But not stupid enough to believe that Joe was as sharp as a tack. and It was clear that Democrats and the media were covering up Joe's condition. Everything that we're hearing now isn't a surprise to voters.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | May 20, 2025 8:22 PM |
"The voters" are stupid and lazy ... except when Obama and Biden win.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | May 20, 2025 9:28 PM |
No. Voters are always stupid and lazy
It’s that organizers get them to the polls. Now, however, the thugs are passing hills to aggressively kick people off the voting rolls. Especially registered Democrats.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz shared some stark words for Democrats on Saturday, calling for his fellow party members to "be a little meaner" in the pushback against President Donald Trump.
“‘Oh, the Governor’s being mean,’ well, maybe it’s time for us to be a little meaner, maybe it’s time for us to be a little more fierce,” Walz said. “We have to ferociously push back on this…the thing that bothers a teacher more than anything is to watch a bully.” When the bully is a child, you teach them why bullying is wrong, Walz explained, but when the “bully is an adult like Donald Trump, you bully… him back.” “At heart, this is a weak, cruel man,” Walz said of Trump.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | June 1, 2025 4:49 AM |
Tim Walz was on tv widely every day from his nomination until the election. I felt he was very direct in his speech and held nothing back.
I'm not sure where this "hidden away" thing is coming from.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | June 1, 2025 6:05 AM |
I remember the focus on his weeping son. and his achievement of tampons in the boy’s bathrooms. That’s quite the winner in attracting male votes. Walz can run his own race now and needn’t worry about overshadowing Harris. Maybe he can come across as more alpha and less goofy.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | June 1, 2025 1:30 PM |
There really was no way Harris could beat Trump but she still made so many bad choices. Since she’s kind of a nobody she couldn’t pick a charismatic VP but Walz was really a bad choice.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | June 1, 2025 1:33 PM |
R58 Of course she could've beat Trump. Dem apologists are trying to rewrite history but there was so much optimism and excitement after Biden dropped out and she had a period of polling lead beyond MoE at one point. Even the leftists who had vowed to never vote for a genocide facilitator were willing to give her a chance. The price gouging proposal was enormously popular. Tim Walz's correct framing of right wing nuts as weirdos put Republicans on the back foot for the first time in years. There was hope in the air for the first time in what felt like forever. And then the Dem convention happened, and then came "the most lethal fighting force" and "I'm speaking", and gone was any delusion for a change from Biden.
Her early days as the candidate felt like Obama in '08, with the much needed sense of hope and change in grim times. Instead she and/or her handlers at the DNC decided to she had to be Biden without a dick to secure the suburban white vote - as if all suburban whites want to see Palestinian babies burnt alive and immigrant families torn apart AND that those who actually do would ever vote for the Dems in a million years - and that's why she lost.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | June 1, 2025 2:57 PM |
Walz was really a bad choice.
He had higher overall approval ratings during the campaign than Harris, Trump or Vance.
I'm not sure where this "hidden away" thing is coming from.
The best-known example is when he started describing the people around Trump as "weird" and the Democratic Party leaders told him to stop. He was visible during the campaign but he was told to stick to a very limited script, even though one of his biggest advantages is that he can connect with people without sounding like a politician.
I guess if you think trans issues and tampons in bathrooms are the most important issue in America then maybe you wouldn't like him.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | June 1, 2025 4:23 PM |
Walz is awesome. They muzzled him and told him to turn off his best attributes. I wish he'd gone rouge
by Anonymous | reply 61 | June 1, 2025 4:26 PM |
I wish Walz and AOC would redirect some of their fiery energy toward the Dem leadership. There's no saving the party without a major revolt, and it's better that it happens now than in four years.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | June 2, 2025 2:57 AM |
R59, that a Republican - any Republican - won the popular vote tells you a lot about how doomed Harris’s chances were. I just saw a CNN interview with a 55-year old Pennsylvania man who voted for the FIRST time last year. As much as he repels the non-“poorly educated,” Trump has some magical appeal to too many Americans. While I’m entirely bleak about the American experiment, I’m grateful that it is most likely (this) Trump will never be on the ballot again.

These are people who can’t even count the ingredients in their lunch.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | June 2, 2025 5:23 AM |
R63 No, that the Trump vote remained steady while the Dems lost 10 million voters from 2020 should tell you that this was entirely an avoidable fuckup of the Dems' own making.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | June 2, 2025 5:26 AM |
For eight years, I thought the 2016 election was a fluke. I now see the 2020 election as the aberration.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | June 2, 2025 9:55 AM |
By never separating herself from Biden in any way, Harris was doomed. I doubt anything but internal issues mainly inflation affected the election. Trump did very well among younger voters and POC who supposedly would be the ones most affected by events in Gaza.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | June 2, 2025 10:36 AM |
Even - a belated - separation by a sitting vice president from an unpopular president isn’t going to lead to victory.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | June 2, 2025 11:02 AM |
Sadly, someone I follow on YouTube clings to "Trump and Musk stole the election!" Hyper-partisan Democrats cannot see the Biden-Harris train wreck as it was.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | June 2, 2025 12:14 PM |
An otherwise smart friend keeps saying Harris ran a "perfect" campaign. How could it be perfect if she lost? I guess he can't bring himself to put any blame on her or the Dems. Pathetic.
