USTA unveils $800M renovation of US Open’s Billie Jean King Tennis Center
by Anonymous | reply 6 | May 20, 2025 5:48 AM |
Projected to be completed ahead of the 2027 tournament, the self-funded initiative — the single largest investment in U.S. Open history — is a reflection of tennis’ immense growth over the past five years.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | May 20, 2025 5:48 AM |
We are enhancing and modernizing every aspect of Arthur Ashe Stadium and the venue,” USTA chief executive and executive director Lew Sherr said. “From seating to concourses to restrooms to points of sale, also including premium hospitality and courtside experiences. There’s also an extraordinary opportunity to support our athletes in a much better way, and you’re going to see a modernized and new facility with premium amenities, equipment, facilities, to allow them to compete at their absolute best and also to allow them to enjoy the three-week experience in Queens like never before.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | May 20, 2025 5:49 AM |
We will also be delivering even more economic value to the city of New York. We already deliver more than $1.2 billion in economic impact to the city. That’s more than the Yankees and the Mets combined, and that number will only increase significantly.”
The changes to the near 24,000-seat Ashe, which was built in 1997 and carries the namesake of the first Black player to win the tournament title, will include a brand new level called Mezz 2.
The suites will be on those dedicated concourses, while courtside seats will increase from 3,000 to 5,000.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 20, 2025 5:50 AM |
I wish they'd make Ashe Stadium 1/3 smaller.

A much needed win for Tomy Etcheverry in the tussle of the Argentine Adonises against Fran Comesańa.
He lost in the Hamburg final last year and is dropping a ton of points this week

R16 yeah, sorry you're right! It was Lyon - which was played in the week before RG last year.

In the second all Argentine match up of the day, Camilo comes out on top over Sebi Baez in a real slugfest. One more win and it should secure him a top 50 ranking for the first time at the end of the week.

ADF won! Very nice embrace at the net. This was a tough match for me because I also really like Monfils. You can tell they have massive respect for each other, which is nice to see.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | May 20, 2025 4:26 PM |
Nice to see Rublev and FAA rowing together. They seem like close friends, only had nice words to say about each other, which was sweet.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | May 20, 2025 4:34 PM |
R19 It was good to see ADF win a tidy, undramatic fashion. Apart from that slight wobble serving for the match - 40-0 back to deuce - he was steady and efficient throughout.
I hope he can finally get a title this season and get that particular monkey off his back!

Felix has been allergic to clay this year. It does seem longer than just a few months ago when he clinched runs to the finals in Dubai, Montpelier, and Adelaide, and the semis in Doha. Here's to him making a deep run in RG and the grass and hard courts this summer.
FAA with Rublev, ADF and Baez in the link rowing , as mentioned by R20.

Very sad that Matteo is not gonna be in RG
by Anonymous | reply 86 | May 22, 2025 11:49 PM |
I wonder how much of it is injury and how much of it is just to have more time to prep for the grass season, as Matteo has a much better chance to make a strong run at Wimbledon than RG. Not saying he isn't injured, but do question its seriousness.

TME takes a clinical first set against Flayvah, 6-2. Both playing well, but Flavio seems to be making too many mistakes on critical moments in games.

Cobolli is so cute, Etcheverry too! I like watching matches when both players are eye candy.

by Anonymous | reply 97 | May 23, 2025 3:20 PM |
Cam Norrie - another player who's having a bit of a form resurgence - takes the second set off Novaxx in the Geneva semi.
Hopefully an indication that Djokovic won't be around at the latter stages of RG should Alcaraz or Sinner fuck up on the way.
by Anonymous | reply 98 | May 23, 2025 4:05 PM |

Just watched this video with Andy Roddick. Interesting to hear the breakdown of the men's draw. I disagree with some of his picks. Like I don't think Hubie will win over Fonseca. And then he has ADF over Lehecka. I think Lehecka will win that match.

R124 Jack is very hot, but his personality is a turn off, I mean he's a Trump supporter ffs. He is probably a Tory voter too (then again most tennis players probably are, they probably all vote conservative).

by Anonymous | reply 161 | May 25, 2025 9:55 AM |
R159 OK I'll give you an example. I'm in the UK and know many people who follow Trump on SM. Not because they agree with his politics, but because they find him so hilariously stupid and, as Draper said, 'fascinating'. Saying you'd take up the opportunity to have dinner with someone isn't the same thing as condoning their actions or views. I'd love to have dinner with Hannibal Lecter as I find him fascinating but I'm not into cannibalism or murder.
Also in a dinner party setting, that would be one hell of an explosive guest list, and I think that was what he was getting at.
by Anonymous | reply 162 | May 25, 2025 9:57 AM |

It's going to be fun listening to The Tennis Podcast this week as they have an emotional meltdown every time the order of play is released and there are no women's matches scheduled at night.
by Anonymous | reply 173 | May 25, 2025 2:31 PM |
The Max coverage is horrible. $17 to be subjected to obnoxious commercials is the only option. Even the premium package still has the same commercials. And navigating through to get to an actual match is a maze. It's always a slog to watch the Slams in the US. Tennistv.com is the only good tennis streaming service. I wish they covered the Slams.
by Anonymous | reply 174 | May 25, 2025 2:36 PM |
We are fortunate in Europe - 1 month subscription to Discovery+ and we get all RG matches streamed live, no commercials - most have no irritating commentary!

What's with all the black shorts at RG this year? Adidas, Nike and Joma need to be boycotted in favor of no shorts at all.

PCB (and his pendulous dong) into Round 2.
And yeah, the Adidas kits are ugly and boring. A fatal combination.

RG should follow the example of AELTC and seed based on the players' skill on the surface being played. The American men in particular are seeded too high vs. their prowess on clay.
by Anonymous | reply 181 | May 25, 2025 4:10 PM |
I think the AELTC dropped that policy back in 2021. I think all the Grand Slam tournaments now - possibly have to - follow the official ATP rankings at the time they make the draw.

R189 Yeah it was pretty special to see the Big Four back together. We know Nadal and Federer are good friends, but I often forget Murray and Nadal have been friends since they were kids when Murray moved to Spain (and Murray and Djokovic have known each other since they were kids too).

R198 You'll be lucky. I had to watch on Discovery+ with a TNT Sports Subscription which this year costs £30 a month. I'll completely watch the fuck out of RG so it's not the end of the world but last year it was only £7.99 a month all in.
You might be able to find a torrent of it somewhere.

r216, I am not Rafanatic. However I have always admired Rafa above all others, and have found his values and conduct an inspiration in my career, if that makes any sense. I've actually never picked up a racket in my life, to my regret, I poured myself in to another sport when I was young, but in recent decades I do love to watch tennis.

ADF looks depressed. Clearly not happy with his performance today. That or he is injured. Idk.
by Anonymous | reply 234 | May 26, 2025 2:43 PM |
ADF was fine in the first two sets. I think he just got frustrated when he did his usual lapse of concentration in the third, through half of the fourth.

Judy was one of the most talented singers ever. She also had a lot of pain and struggle throughout her life. Despite that, she had a good heart, which is hard to encounter in Hollywood. At a time when gay people were oppressed beyond belief, they identified with her struggles and she theirs.

He was a real ass against Muller in the first round. He repeatedly held up play at critical times when Muller had momentum.
He was also copying all Novaxx's gestures in goading the crowd. He's also hanging out with Jake Paul. Seems to be developing into a bit of a jackass.

Bummed about Fils, who is very hot.
by Anonymous | reply 502 | May 30, 2025 7:34 PM |
I’m not a Dzumhur!
by Anonymous | reply 504 | May 30, 2025 7:42 PM |
I heard a Dzumhur. They say you've got a broken heart.
by Anonymous | reply 505 | May 30, 2025 7:44 PM |
Why did Fils pull out?
by Anonymous | reply 506 | May 30, 2025 7:52 PM |
I presume it was the leg injury he sustained in the Munar match.
by Anonymous | reply 507 | May 30, 2025 7:54 PM |
Sorry but Bublik doesn't look like he showers
by Anonymous | reply 508 | May 30, 2025 7:55 PM |
Bublik looks like a homeless derelict. I'm not convinced he's not one.

With Emporio Armani as a sponsor!
by Anonymous | reply 510 | May 30, 2025 8:18 PM |
Emporio Armani's current choice of male players is weird - Bublik, Sonego, and Medjedovic. All pretty 'off brand' IMHO.
by Anonymous | reply 511 | May 30, 2025 8:22 PM |
Dzumhur steals a deserved set. I'm happy now. Carlitos can go and win.
by Anonymous | reply 513 | May 30, 2025 8:53 PM |
I'm bummed that both Rune and Shelton won today
by Anonymous | reply 517 | May 30, 2025 9:42 PM |
Dzumhur playing out of his skin. More 'unkillable' than even Apostolos Tsitsipas. He breaks back to stay alive in the 4th set.
by Anonymous | reply 518 | May 30, 2025 9:42 PM |
Carlitos advances.
by Anonymous | reply 519 | May 30, 2025 9:47 PM |
Lucas Pouille scrubbed up nicely (doing the on court interview with Carlitos)

RFC Team or Flayvah Team?
Novaxx Team or Misslevic Team?
Il Gingio or Lehecka Team?
Jo-Wow! Team or Captain Jack Team?
Cute Cam Team or Fearnley Team?
by Anonymous | reply 526 | May 30, 2025 10:07 PM |
Flayvah/Never RFC Team
Misolic/Never Novaxx Team
Lehecka Team (if Novaxx wins, change it to Il Gingio Team)
Captain Jack Team
Fearnley, Pride of Edinburgh Team
by Anonymous | reply 527 | May 30, 2025 10:11 PM |
Cobolli team
Misslevic team (I’d pick anyone over Novaxx)
Il Gingio team (better chance of winning against Novaxx)
Captain Jack team
Fearnley team (but I’m largely indifferent for this match)
by Anonymous | reply 528 | May 30, 2025 10:12 PM |
I'll take my lovely big dutch boy, Griekspoor (over Quinn), and my new favourite, Henrique Rocha (over Bublik) in the other two men's matches tomorrow
by Anonymous | reply 529 | May 30, 2025 10:18 PM |
[quote]Do we know why FILS pulled out??
It was the agreement we had before I let him put it in.
by Anonymous | reply 530 | May 30, 2025 10:20 PM |
Rocha has beautiful skin.
by Anonymous | reply 531 | May 30, 2025 10:21 PM |
Which browns, whites and yellows have won and lost so far this tournament?
by Anonymous | reply 532 | May 30, 2025 10:23 PM |
Captain Big Jack D
Nothing against Fonz but I long to silence the obnoxious Brazilians.
by Anonymous | reply 534 | May 30, 2025 10:45 PM |
"Do we know why FILS pulled out??"
He didn't want to get Roland Garros pregnant, Rose!
by Anonymous | reply 535 | May 31, 2025 12:28 AM |
Fils has a stress fracture in his L5 vertebrae so is out for 4 weeks at a minimum. No Wimbledon for him.
by Anonymous | reply 536 | May 31, 2025 9:45 AM |
I can't help but feel Fils should've retired in the Munar match. Totally understand the desire to carry on in your home slam, but pushing that injury for 3 sets will have done a lot of extra damage.
by Anonymous | reply 537 | May 31, 2025 9:54 AM |
MASC 100% TOP NO EXCEPTIONS!, Tallon Griekspoor, comes through against waify, Ethan Quinn, with a few wobbles on the way.
by Anonymous | reply 538 | May 31, 2025 12:38 PM |
Sinner over Lehecka in three..... Sinner is very boring to watch.

by Anonymous | reply 541 | May 31, 2025 1:02 PM |
Captain Jack demolishes Fonseca 2, 4 and 2 in less than 2 hours. Clinical.
by Anonymous | reply 542 | May 31, 2025 2:39 PM |
RFC tops Cobolli.
by Anonymous | reply 543 | May 31, 2025 3:02 PM |
Johnny Mac was unbearable last night. Disrespect for Dzumhur for the whole match. He really is a boring, bitter old cunt.
by Anonymous | reply 546 | May 31, 2025 5:57 PM |
Misolic is hot in that gym bro/queen way. BDF? "Me So Lick."
by Anonymous | reply 547 | May 31, 2025 6:49 PM |
The TNT commentators for the Djokovic match are incredibly annoying.
by Anonymous | reply 548 | May 31, 2025 7:59 PM |
I listen to the Radio Roland Garros commentary - via app or website - and synch it up with the TV coverage.
They're hilarious - currently in an in depth discussion about the international impact of Bananarama - interspersed with some actual tennis commentary.
by Anonymous | reply 549 | May 31, 2025 8:08 PM |
TNT invited Granny V and she put on a busty display
by Anonymous | reply 550 | May 31, 2025 8:08 PM |
Sexy Filip giving Novak a decent work out.
I can't see Novaxx having much to worry Sinner on the evidence of this performance - especially seeing what Jannick did to Lehecka earlier today.
by Anonymous | reply 551 | May 31, 2025 8:25 PM |
MAGA Coco Vandeweghe really extra on the desk. She had a little mid-level spat with PMac today which was pretty funny. She goes hard; I guess that's her brand. She's not a bad analyst overall. The TNT desk is sort of messy.
by Anonymous | reply 552 | May 31, 2025 8:40 PM |

Poppers

by Anonymous | reply 560 | May 31, 2025 11:50 PM |
wow, venus really let herself go....
by Anonymous | reply 561 | May 31, 2025 11:51 PM |
She does resemble Serena more now with the longer hair and extra weight
by Anonymous | reply 562 | May 31, 2025 11:58 PM |
I thought Serena would age like Oracene - so I am not surprised when she puts on weight. But I also really thought that Venus would follow Richard and still be tall and fairly thin as she aged.
by Anonymous | reply 563 | June 1, 2025 12:24 AM |
^^ Also, I like the extra weight in Venus' face, but it's not really doing her much elsewhere. I didn't know she had such giant breasts potential. I mean, they were never small, but i still never noticed her tits.
by Anonymous | reply 564 | June 1, 2025 12:25 AM |
R564, we know she has autoimmune issues, she could be puffy from medication.
by Anonymous | reply 565 | June 1, 2025 12:27 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 567 | June 1, 2025 1:35 AM |

Jack Draper is growing in me. I like his lack of showmanship. He goes aboutnhisbwins quietly. Fonseca oth has the loud Brazilians cheering him and he plays shit
