What songs do you wish had proper official music videos?

I was molested by Martha Quinn's dad.

"Keep it Together" was the last song on Like A Prayer to be released, and I was always curious what a video of that song would've been.
Other Madonna songs that would've been neat to see done proper would be "Holiday," "Angel," and "Skin."

Edge Of Seventeen. It did have a low budget, awkward little video that is not regarded as a capital-O Official Video. It could have been EPIC Stevie Nicks visuals. The whole thing practically begs for a big 80s production. But that song came out a year or two before Big Budget was a thing in the music video world.

p.s. here's the original very-low-budget Edge Of Seventeen video. Probably cost like $5K.

R5, that's still awesome to see, but yes....that song should be backed with a $$$$$ video to match its intensity and bad-assery.
The YouTube vid makes it look like Stevie is missing a tooth! It might just be the VHS quality...

Don Henley, "Sunset Grill". The story of the lyrics combined with that feeling of tension.

R8 When I heard that song as a kid, I imagined they were eating at a restaurant.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | May 19, 2025 3:54 AM |
With every year that goes by Edge Of Seventeen gets better.

Aretha Franklin - Who's Zoomin' Who. Could've been a cool dance club scene with neon lights, big hair and shoulder pads.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | May 19, 2025 5:41 AM |
Cyndi Lauper - All Through The Night. Not sure why a video was never made.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 19, 2025 5:42 AM |
R8 and R9 - That's such a great one! Although I enjoy the images/visual vibe I created in my head back when I first heard it.
I was too young to understand what "working girls" were, but when I got older, it added a brand new layer to the song. lol

Agree MacArthur Park would be fun. Even now, whoever has the rights should do some weird, trippy, but hopefully artistic tribute video.

R26, MTV wasn't around when Bad Girls came out. She Works Hard for the Money had a big opening on MTV, but that was after her career peak.

Genesis - Illegal Alien
by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 21, 2025 6:11 AM |
The R36 The Prince version probably would've been him performing in a thong or something on stage. I like both versions, but Prince's ultimately won me over. I think it's the simplicity.

Causing a Commotion by Madonna. The opening credits to Who's That Girl are by far the best part of the movie. Warner was foolish not to release them in the form of a music video (plus, the animated version of Madonna had a better figure than her!). It could have easily gone to number one. Warner dropped the ball on her at times.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | May 21, 2025 12:57 PM |
R40, which other times do you think they dropped the ball on her?
by Anonymous | reply 41 | May 21, 2025 3:49 PM |
Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 21, 2025 4:07 PM |
R41, right off the top of my head, they ALMOST dropped the ball on her with Live to Tell. They were convinced that Live to Tell would bomb as the first single off True Blue. They didn't think people would like a dark ballad coming from a big pop star. Madonna was convinced otherwise and insisted that it be released as a single. They also didn't release Into the Groove as a physical single in America (Angel was released instead and Into the Groove was the B-side).

R44, I wish Angel had a video

R45, I have never been crazy about that song or most of the other songs on LAV but I know many others feel differently.
R46, I wish Tori made music videos for so many of her songs.

"Love Affair" from Kylie Minogue's album Fever really should have been released as a single and given a video.
