This gay therapist is certainly more likeable that that SCENE QUEEN Matthew Dempsey. This guy is kinda cute too
The problem I've had with the statement "I'm sex-positive" is that it creates a dichotomy and so anybody who says anything different is then labeled 'sex-negative'.
It's a rhetorical statement that always makes you out as a hero and correct and simultaneously shields you from criticism and makes the other person feel labeled as a 'prude' if they don't agree.
People can do what they do - but the people who I've known who have said they are 'sex-positive' were addicted to the apps and the dopamine rush and/or had problems with intimacy or drug addiction.
They were all train wrecks IRL. I had my slutty stages in my life too - usually after break-ups - but some people never get out of it. It becomes who they are - the endless searching for dicks, hook-ups, someone new - soooo much time and effort.

I hate the tern 'hetronormative' as it just denigrates the fact that I don't need to fuck everything in pants. If I have to be labelled, I'm comfortable with the term 'demisexual' which basically implies you need to feel an emotional connection to someone before you get intimate.

R2 - I hate that word too - as if straights are so prudent about sex, whereas most straight men will fuck ANYTHING with a vagina. Straight women have standards, straight men don't seem to.
Of course, not all of them. But I hate that gays get painted with this promiscuous brush when straight people are always going on about sex - strip clubs, swingers, lingerie gifts, sex toys.
Seriously, I really don't hear gay men talk about sex as much as straight people.

R2 Demi-sexual? You’re only mid or half-way into sex?
