Doesn't Donald Trump Remind You Of JR Ewing On Dallas

Trump is a 21st century version of Jr. There was even an episode of Dallas ca. 1982 where there was talk about JR running for president of the United States.

They both are shady characters and both like to FUCK THEIR BRAINS OUT.

I would love to see JR meet with Trump and “JR” him. Make a fool out of him! ….. Greg Sumner (William Devane) would do a good job of making Donald look stupid.

by Anonymousreply 1May 12, 2025 4:33 PM

No, he reminds me of Mr. Potter in It's A Wonderful Life.

But sexually depraved.

by Anonymousreply 2May 12, 2025 4:52 PM

This show was before my time but can only say that I hope he ends up like him!!

by Anonymousreply 3May 12, 2025 4:55 PM

#r3 I’ll do my best!

by Anonymousreply 4May 12, 2025 7:06 PM

Everytime I watch Dallas now I totally get the Trump comparison. J.R. was a bit more mature acting than Trump but the power trip and being a total dick thing is the same.

by Anonymousreply 5May 12, 2025 7:10 PM

More like Carroll O’Connor playing Archie Bunker.

by Anonymousreply 6May 12, 2025 7:16 PM

JR had some semblance of a moral code, he would never intentionally hurt his parents or son. And he loved Sue Ellen and Bobby, in his way.

Dump would sell Barron to a Saudi billionaire if the price was right.

by Anonymousreply 7May 12, 2025 7:18 PM

Dump WISHES he was as shrewd as J.R. Ewing!

by Anonymousreply 8May 12, 2025 7:19 PM

No, because I don't remember the groundskeeping staff having to refill the swimming pool each time JR took a dive in it.

by Anonymousreply 9May 12, 2025 7:23 PM

If Larry Hagman was alive he’d be in Trump’s cabinet.

by Anonymousreply 10May 12, 2025 7:24 PM

J.R. wasn't mentally challenged.

by Anonymousreply 11May 12, 2025 8:34 PM

More like an old swayback palomino in Southfork's front yard.

by Anonymousreply 12May 12, 2025 9:23 PM

JR was sharp and sly and Donald could never be described that way because he’s too fucking stupid to be sharp and sly.

by Anonymousreply 13May 12, 2025 9:38 PM

No.

JR, bastard that he was, loved his family.

For all the times he fucked them over, in the end he had to admit he loved them. And he tried, in his limited way, to make up for all his misdeeds.

The Orange fucker loves no one.

by Anonymousreply 14May 12, 2025 10:00 PM

no he does not.

by Anonymousreply 15May 12, 2025 10:01 PM

JR's mother loved him.

Trump's mother threw him in a closet and had the maids change him when he shit.

by Anonymousreply 16May 12, 2025 10:03 PM

I wish there was a current plot like JR's most famous one.

by Anonymousreply 17May 12, 2025 10:12 PM

Who would be Kristin in that scenario, r17-the knocked up mistress tired of JR not dumping his haggard, drunk whore wife?

Lindsey Graham? Kristi Noem? Laura Loomer?

by Anonymousreply 18May 12, 2025 10:15 PM

No, OP.

by Anonymousreply 19May 12, 2025 10:16 PM

He reminds me of Max Schreck in Batman Returns.

by Anonymousreply 20May 12, 2025 10:16 PM

No, JR didn't have that kind of power. Trump is more like Henry VIII who destroyed centuries of culture, art and architecure and executed his own wives and friends for not treating him like a god.

by Anonymousreply 21May 12, 2025 10:36 PM

R18 why the leading lady grande dame of MAGA. Le Senatrice Lindsaybelle de Graham. Do you have to ask?

by Anonymousreply 22May 13, 2025 1:51 AM

[quote]If Larry Hagman was alive he’d be in Trump’s cabinet.

No, he wouldn’t. You clearly know nothing about him.

[quote]Hagman was a member of the Peace and Freedom Party from the 1960s. Hagman derided U.S. President George W. Bush prior to the Iraq War.

Trump isn’t as clever or as cunning as J.R. He likely would have resented the comparison.

by Anonymousreply 24May 13, 2025 1:59 AM

Boys! Get the dogs out! Run that flatulent Orange Schlub off of South Fork!

by Anonymousreply 25May 13, 2025 4:10 AM

So what you’re saying, r22, is that the Senatrice is going to end up lying dead in the White House pool, with a bloodstream full of PCP.
