U.S. And China Reach Deal To Slash Tariffs for 90 Days, Officials Say
Speaking after talks with Chinese officials in Geneva, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told reporters the two sides had agreed on a 90-day pause on measures and that tariffs would come down by over 100 percentage points to 10 percent.
Looks like Trump was looking for an off-ramp and blinked. Looks like the U.S. won't be raking in all those trillions of dollars like Trump said.
And of course...looks like manufacturing won't be returning to the U.S.

I guess now tariffs don't matter.
“Both countries represented their national interest very well,” Bessent said. “We both have an interest in balanced trade, the U.S. will continue moving towards that.”
I thought China was ripping us off and screwing us mainly caused by Biden...at least according to Trump.

What if Trump doesn't remember he agreed to it?

Trump had to fold because China will never fold no matter what happens to their economy or people. He completely miscalculated with China.
Remember that during the pandemic, China welded the doors closed for anyone who wouldn't stay inside during lockdown.

So how will Trump get manufacturing to come back to the U.S.?
What a fucking idiot. He was never going to be able to do it.

So there's a pause for 90 days. Then what happens?
My guess is that Trump will fold again.

That fat orange f#ck tanked the stock markets, longterm economic progress and caused significant damage to some businesses with his foolish bluster and ignorance of all things academic. China did not BLINK! They waited -- arms folded -- for him to capitulate, and he did because he had no alternative. He looks like a complete idiot. EVERYONE told him it was the wrong thing to do except for the dumb sycophants around him. Everything about him is entirely unnecessary. There are 78 million complete and utter fools in America.

They’re spinning this as a win, and the media will allow him to do this

I can’t even imagine what it would mean for people who buy overseas in order to make their products. But as someone who sells products worldwide that are made in the United States, I can tell you that it’s INSANITY.
U.S. customers are deeply worried about the future. Some have been laid off thanks to Trump/Musk not wanting to pay taxes, others are worried about a recession, others are scared by the stock market plummet.
Overseas customers ask me if they’ll have to pay tariffs, and I have to tell them I don’t know — as you said, CHAOS.
And yet others overseas now HATE the USA and are boycotting U.S. products. I have customers tell me this on my business Facebook.
My sales are down 25-40% since Trump started all this shit.

Businesses are seeking clarity and consistency. This does NOTHING to calm them down really and commit to purchasing and ordering goods for a year out. Trump remains the biggest moron in America!

It’s already too late. The Xmas orders should have been in by now. Everything will be scarce for a long time because these fuckwits don’t have a plan.
They just bluster and threaten. Meanwhile small businesses are going under, putting more people out of work.
