I had not been in a church in over thirty years but today I impulsively went to a 6:00 p.m. service so I could offer myself as a volunteer for community services but only to find the all the pews empty!
I sat down in the second row not fifteen feet directly in front of the young pastor and asked him if service was cancelled. He shook his head, made introductions and then started.
It was a decent service, if not boiler plate but he was engaging with the main topic of miracles. He sounded a little shaky at first, and I was later amused when he told me he was only seventeen!
Because I was the only attendee he graciously took my questions and it became, really, a respectful dialogue.
I shared with that him I'd seen some weird, unexplainable, or even things one might consider miraculous thoughout my life. (I have also shared some of these stories on DL over the years, probably to my detriment!)
At some point I dropped my bottled water and when I reached down to get it could not find it. No big deal, I figured I'd get it later.
After the sermon I stood up, he came over and we chatted a while.
I just flat told him that, honestly, I've seen or experienced many unexplainable things all through my life and at sixty-four and retired I'm OPEN to the possibly of God. I made it clear I was not a believer but open.
I could see the wheels turning in his head. He had his big fish and was figuring out how to reel me in. Ha!
When it was time to leave I began looking for my water bottle that had rolled away expecting it under the first row is seats or perhaps even down by the alter because, like most big churches, the aisles are really big ramps and there was approximately fifty rows of fifty with fifty seats across. Im guessing.
Then he pointed to my water bottle which has rolled two ROWS UP!
"Isn't that weird? I asked, a little unnerved.
"Shouldn't it have rolled down, not up?
The pastor didn't say anything, he just had a confused look on his face.
I picked up the bottle that I had carried in with me, dropped it again and it rolled UP, again! We parted in silence and I went home.
WTF!?
What's happening DL?
P.S.
I'm going back tomorrow to test the bottle again.
Note: I apologize if this is a mess, I've been trying to work on my clarity but commas and quotes are hard for me. It's the best I can do. Please be kind.
