Her life did have drama. She hid her health problems from everyone for years. She was diagnosed with a severe kidney disorder at 20, and survived breast cancer, having a radical mastectomy. She was on daily dialysis for years. Eventually one kidney had to be removed while awaiting a transplant. Then the remaining kidney failed. She finally got a transplant, but died from post-surgical complications. She kept writing her column until five days before her death. Any biopic would be a medical drama. Her humor doesn't date, as it was all about everyday life and the trials and tribulations of suburban life. Those things don't change too much.
