In 2000, Colin Powell was one of the most admired men in the world, but Powell and Bush's relationship was rocky.

If Powell decided to run for president in 1996, he most likely would have beat Bill Clinton. We would have had a strong moderate two-term Republican presidency.

Bush and Powell both new this. Watching Bush follow the advice of Cheney and Rumsfeld killed him, but his mindset was that he could try to do the least amount of damage possible, and was fairly successful until Iraq got out of control thanks to Rummy.
